Taking advantage of Acura TLX-GT all-wheel-drive traction and handling capabilities on a wet St. Petersburg Florida 1.8 mile street course, Real Time Racing’s Ryan Eversley takes the Pole Position for Pirelli World Cup G.T. class in this weekends two race event.
Friday’s 20 minute qualifying round found relative newcomer Ryan Eversley of Atlanta Georgia taking the Pole Position for Saturday’s St. Petersburg Pirelli World Challenge G.T. class with a lap time of 1:22.434, beating out K-PAX Mclaren 650SGT3 by a nose. Although team owner and lead driver Peter Cunningham missed Friday’s practice, he later came onto the track to position the #43 car in a very respectable 14th position in a field of 43.
Peter shared with us in an earlier interview that the series only all-wheel -drive cars have an advantage in wet weather. As demonstrated in round one, race 2 at the Circuit of the Americas, Eversley on has first outing with the Acura Performance/RealTime Racing TLX-GT, took “Best standing start” race#1 and followed up on Sunday with a very respectable 5th place finish in GT.
Unfortunately Peter Cunningham took an untimely hit in the #43 car and was put out of contention in round #1.
At 31, Eversley brings to RealTime Racing an impressive Honda racing background and competitive spirit that should pair well with Peter Cunningham’s calm and decades-long experience, engineering and racing strategy know how. Cunningham is the winningest driver in Pirelli World Challenge. We look for RealTime Racing to do well this weekend on the road to dominating Pirelli G.T..
