Good Housekeeping magazine, the folks that honored Honda Odyssey for great utility, built in vacuum included, just awarded Honda Accord Sport, it’s best sedan for 2017. How, what, and why? Let's take a closer look.
With no shortage of quality built competition in North America’s midsize sedan segment, Honda Accord continues to buck the crossover/SUV buying trend with record sales numbers. This year, “Good Housekeeping” teams up with Car & Driver, in the expert assessment of 100 vehicles, and narrows down the field to 25, before picking the “best” in 7 segments. We spend “a week in the seat,” of the uptick Honda Accord Sport.
After driving 1200 miles or so on a test track, weighing in on standard and optional features, fit and finish, refinement of ride, active safety features, and available options, Honda Accord came out on top, as the best packaged value for your dollar. (Beginning MSRP: $24,415. Price as tested:$26,215.)
Read what Good Housekeeping has to say about Honda’s well equipped, and well priced 2017 Accord Sport 4-door sedan: The Good Housekeeping Institute worked with Car and Driver, the leading authority on all things automotive, to screen more than 100 new vehicles, narrowing it down to the top 25 for further scrutiny. After driving over 1,200 miles on test tracks and open roads, engineers from the GHI Labs and consumer testers rated cars on value, safety, smoothness, handling, interior design and comfort and onboard technology.
The Accord Sport was named the Best Sedan due to its roomy interior, superior gas mileage and perfectly placed steering wheel buttons. In addition, Good Housekeeping cited the availability of the Honda Sensing™ suite of driver assist technologies, including Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS™) and Lane Keeping Assist (LKAS).
