Tundra owners and enthusiasts have shared their reasons and fixes for the 2022 Toyota Tundra. This could help in the winter if you plan to start your car in advance.

Take this hypothetical situation, It’s the peak winter season. You just got your fresh set of snow tires for your 2022 Toyota Tundra and now you are ready to conquer the icy northern roads. It’s negative 10 outside and you are freezing. What do you do? The sensible man would remote start his truck and turn the heat up so that he won’t be sitting in an iglu for 20 minutes trying to heat up his truck.

Unfortunately, you do not know how to operate your remote start. You didn’t pay extra and get the ability to do it from your Toyota app so now you are stuck with getting that remote start via the key fob trick. You try the 3 clicks and hear the beeps, but it still isn’t working. What do you do?

Luckily for you, you aren’t the only one experiencing this problem. On Facebook’s 2022+ Toyota Tundra owners’ group, Scott Steinkirtz asked, “Have a platinum. Pressing fob lock 3x and holding doesn’t remote start. Isn’t supposed to?”

Now I think that this is a very important question because of the fact that we are just a few months away from a nice winter. This means that if you Tundra is still on order, you may want to start indulging yourself in Tundra know-how so that you won’t end up like most owners who didn’t know these little facts.

Marty Gilliam said, “Had to accept it on the Toyota app before mine would remote start SR not a platinum.” So, every Tundra gets the app but only after paying a fee will you be able to really use it for its intended purposes.

Bobby Mckee said,” It takes a solid 5 secs of holding for it to register. You will see the lights flash and then it starts.” Now as soon as you open the door it turns off but if you intend to just get the engine warm or defrost the cabin then this will work.

I think that if you really do plan to haul trailers through the winter it would be worth to invest in the app so that you can really unlock some cool features. You will thank yourself when you don’t have to drive a frozen truck.
