Volvo's replacement for the long-standing S80, the 2017 S90 will be arriving at dealerships later this summer. But how much will it set you back?
The base T5 Momentum FWD will set you back $47,945 (includes $995 destination charge) and climbs to $57,245 for the T6 Inscription AWD. If you're wondering about pricing for the T8 Plug-In Hybrid, that will be announced at a later date. Standard equipment on all models is quite extensive with auto stop-start, power front seats with a memory function for the driver, backup camera, Volvo Sensus infotainment system, sunroof, and adaptive cruise control with Pilot Assist semi-autonomous capability.
Here is a brief refresher on the S90's engine lineup,
- T5: 2.0L Turbo-four - 250 horsepower, 258 pound-feet of torque
- T6: Twincharged 2.0L four-cylinder - 316 horsepower, 295 pound-feet of torque
Volvo's Concierge program
Along with the S90 pricing, Volvo announced a new program called the Volvo Concierge. This allows a customer to purchase a S90 online and work with a Volvo Concierge to make the vehicle just right. Once the order is sent, the concierge will keep the buyer updated as to when the vehicle has left Sweden and arrived at the dealer.
“We wanted to make the online experience more personalized. Cars are not your average online purchase. We believe luxury consumers of today will appreciate having a personal contact that helps you understand your options and the process,” said Lex Kerssemakers, President and CEO of Volvo Car USA.
