Deep in Bentley headquarters, there has been discussions about a new model: A coupe version of the Bentayga SUV or a production version of the EXP 10 Speed 6. It appears a decision has been made.
Car and Driver was invited to a Bentley design briefing where recently hired styling boss Stefan Sielaff presented a short video that featured images and renderings of projects they are working on. Some of the vehicles featured in the video included the next Continental coupe and cabriolet. But there was a two-door SUV that bore a resemblance to the Bentayga. Speaking with a senior PR person after the presentation, Car and Driver asked about the SUV and learned that Bentley is working on such a vehicle.
Talk about this model has been going on since Bentley introduced the production Bentayga back at the Frankfurt Motor Show last year. Bentley CEO Wolfgang Durheimer told Top Gear magazine the company was considering doing a coupe-like version of the Bentayga as a possible new project. The other project being talked about at the time was a production version of the EXP 10 Speed 6.
The SUV will be part of the Bentayga lineup and not a separate model. As for the EXP 10 Speed Six concept, a decision on whether or not to go forward with it will take place before the end of this year.
