The 2021 Chrysler Pacifica just was given the CarBuzz 2020 Family Fun Award for all of its family entertainment features. New parents will love the Pinnacle model for its new camera that makes driving with infants much safer.
As an automotive reporter, I can not tell you how many times parents have complained to me about rear-facing car seats for infants and small children. Parents are concerned because they can not see the children and frequently struggle with trying to turn around to see if the little ones are safe in their car seats. The 2021 Chrysler Pacifica has a new FamCAM in its Pinnacle model that finally solves the problem. The camera shows the car seat and the child’s face so the parent can better concentrate on driving.
Zoom to Seat Feature
The FamCAM not only shows the driver the rear-facing seat but also allows the driver to zoom in on the seat and the child’s face. The camera view is visible on the infotainment screen, so the parent can easily see if the child has its pacifier or may have spit up. Those are two key questions virtually every parent has while driving. The FamCAM can ease a parent’s fears or alert them to the possibility of a real problem. Ask a new parent how many times they have had to pull over to check on a baby in a rear-facing car seat. You will find that the FamCAM is long-overdue. The FamCAM is standard in the 2021 Chrysler Pacifica Pinnacle model and is also available on the Limited model.
The Chrysler Corporation invented the minivan segment and has continued to lead with innovation. It pioneered the segment and every generation of the vehicle has improved the "living room on wheels" concept. Many buyers comment on the Stow ‘n Go seating, which allows them to configure the interior of the minivan to best suit their lifestyle. Stow ‘n Go also creates an incredible amount of storage in the floor of the vehicle, which makes it much easier for families to transport toys, luggage and sports equipment. The 2021 Chrysler Pacifica Pinnacle model is the top-of-the-line version of this year’s “family room on four wheels”.
CarBuzz 2020 Family Fun Award
The CarBuzz 2020 Family Fun Award is just the latest of 140 different awards and citations the Chrysler minivan has received over the last four years. The CarBuzz Award notes all of the entertainment features offered in the minivan. The new family hauler has the very latest Uconnect 5 system, which operates four times faster than the previous version. The entertainment system available to the passengers includes 13 built-in games. For 2021, Chrysler has a Pacifica Hybrid as well as an all-wheel-drive version, ensuring that buyers can have the powertrain that most fits their lifestyle.
“The Pacifica has turned the minivan segment on its head, appealing to a broader range of image-conscious family buyers than ever before. But it’s done so in a way that makes family motoring fun again,” said CarBuzz Managing Editor Roger Biermann. “The 2019 Pacifica had already impressed as a runner-up in last year’s CarBuzz Awards, but meaningful updates for the 2020 and 2021 model years, including the addition of all-wheel drive (AWD), the ultra-luxurious Pinnacle model and refreshed styling, made the Pacifica impossible to ignore this time around. All-weather ability in the form of the Pacifica AWD, world-beating gas mileage from the Pacifica Hybrid, and the industry’s best infotainment system found in a minivan, courtesy of Uconnect 5, were all key factors in awarding this year’s winner. There is simply no other family car with this breadth of ability, technology and features, making the 2021 Pacifica a worthy winner in our eyes.”
According to Chrysler, “The 2021 Pacifica brings the fun without sacrificing capability, offering the most advanced AWD system in its class and the only to deliver AWD along with Stow ‘n Go seating, as well as 97 standard safety features – the most standard safety features in the industry.”
