Now that Dodge is winding down its popular Challengers and Chargers, Dodge dealers are banding together to make convertible conversions more convenient. For now, only 2022 and 2023 Challenger models are eligible.
I’ve heard it a million times and I’m sure Dodge dealers have too! “Mustangs and Camaros have convertibles, why can’t I get a convertible Challenger?” Now you can. Dodge dealers have worked out a plan to have your brand new 2022 or 2023 Dodge Challenger shipped right from the Brampton Assembly Plant to Drop Top Customs. Once it is finished, the buyer can take delivery at the dealer.
The agreement should make the conversion quicker and easier with known professionals doing the work. Challenger convertibles did exist but only for a short time. Dodge Challenger convertibles were offered as production vehicles for only two model years, 1970 and 1971.
“While we hit the throttle toward our new performance path, Dodge is also having fun on this victory lap by celebrating decades of muscle car power,” said Tim Kuniskis, Dodge brand chief executive officer - Stellantis. “What better way to commemorate how far we’ve come than to make it easier for Dodge Challenger customers to create a throwback convertible look. We may not upfit them, but those who want a convertible Challenger can get one faster, expedited from the factory to Drop Top Customs. Owners can order third-party modifications through our Dodge dealerships, and then pick up their finished convertible at the dealer once the vehicle is complete.”
How the Convertible Conversion Process Will Work
Customers will work closely with Drop Top Customs and their Dodge dealership to order the vehicle to fit their specifications. The dealership will offer an expedited transportation process. In other words, the dealers will arrange all of the shipping and transportation for the vehicle to leave the Brampton Plant and be sent to Drop Top Customs.
Other conversions are available, but the car owner has to handle all of the shipping of the car to and from the customizers. Drop Top Customs, located in High Springs, FL, is the oldest convertible coachbuilder in the U.S. Drop Top Customs will ship the finished convertibles to dealers when modifications are completed. Orders are already open for 2022 Dodge Challengers. Conversions for 2023 Challengers will also be available.
The expedited transportation and convertible process is available for Dodge Challenger R/T, R/T Scat Pack and SRT models. It is pricey. Drop Top Customs convertible option retails at $25,999.

The Convertible Conversion is Not Covered By the Dodge Warranty
It is important to point out that because all of the work is being done by a third party, the conversion is not covered by the new vehicle limited warranty that accompanies a new Dodge Challenger vehicle. Any modifications of Dodge Challenger vehicles performed by Droptop Customs will only be made upon instructions given by an authorized Dodge dealer. Buyers are advised to check out the warranty information available through Drop Top Customs.

Don't spend the money to make
Don't spend the money to make it a convertible. The warranty is useless DTC doesn't honor it), the wind noise is unreal, the ride is like a two horse wagon. They use Montway transportation they messed up two wheels and the front lip. Jeff blames them they blames me. So now I am out 3 K to fix my car right. The quality is terrible, fit and finish is awful. The wiring is a nightmare, they wire the top and quarter glass to operate with out a key. Not a professional looking job its a hack job. It took them 5 months to make mine. the seat was scratched the windshield was chipped. I can go on and on. Just keep you care nice use the sunroof. Buy a Camaro/Mustang conv.
