Jeep is making a new edition of the Jeep Gladiator available featuring some of the mid-size truck's most popular accessories. The 2020 Jeep Gladiator Altitude will be "blacked out" with special 18" wheels.

The 2020 Jeep Gladiator is taking a page out of the 2020 Ram 1500 playbook and creating a new special “blacked out” Altitude Edition that will be customized straight from the factory. Ram and Jeep have discovered that customers are willing to pay for customized accessories, when they are making their original purchases, if the accessories are installed by people who specialize in that sort of work. Buyers like to order the special packages because the accessories are covered by the original warranty and the prices are built into the vehicle financing.

Special ‘Custom Shops’ Add the Accessories

Ram and Jeep have built special ‘Custom Shops’ right near the vehicle assembly plants to install the Mopar accessories. The Jeep Gladiator is already one of the most accessorized or personalized vehicles. When the 2020 Jeep Gladiator was introduced, Mopar already had a catalogue of more than 200 accessories specially designed for the Gladiator.

The 2020 Jeep Gladiator Altitude Model

The Jeep Gladiator Altitude edition will feature some of the Gladiator’s most requested accessories. “Our Jeep Gladiator Altitude model is a direct response to customers who ask for a ‘blacked-out’ look directly from the factory. The Jeep Altitude models continue to resonate with customers and adding Gladiator completes this lineup,” said Jim Morrison, Head of Jeep Brand – FCA North America. “We are thrilled that the popular Altitude model joins the Gladiator lineup and is another way for Jeep to connect with customers.”

The 2020 Jeep Gladiator Altitude is based on the Sport S Model. The Altitude will include a body-color grille and headlight rings, and body color fender flares. The Jeep and Trail Rated badges will be black. It will have special 18-inch Granite Chrystal aluminum wheels with Bridgestone Dueler All-Terrain tires. A black Freedom hardtop is standard, but a dual top is an available option.

Inside, the Gladiator Altitude features standard black cloth seats and leather-wrapped steering wheel with black stitching. The mid-size truck has the Jeep 3.6-liter Pentastar V-6 engine and a versatile cargo box. The Gladiator is built to go off-roading like a Jeep but have the versatility of a truck.

Trail Rated Jeep Gladiator

According to Jeep, “All Gladiator models are Trail Rated with a badge indicating that the vehicle is designed to perform in a variety of challenging off-road conditions identified by five key consumer-oriented performance categories: traction, ground clearance, maneuverability, articulation and water fording.”

The Gladiator Altitude will be available in Black, White, Firecracker Red, Billet Silver, Granite Crystal, Sting Gray, Hydro Blue, Gator and Gobi. The 2020 Jeep Gladiator Altitude Edition is priced at $40,340 plus a $1,495 destination charge. The 2020 Jeep Gladiator Altitude model should be in Jeep showrooms early in the third quarter.
