Attendees to EVS26 next week can experience Plugless Power EV recharging on site, thanks to the developer of the technology, Evatran, who will field a booth at the annual Electric Vehicle Symposium in the Los Angeles Convention Center May 6 to 9.
The firm’s inductive charging system will be part of the Ride, Drive and Charge presentation at EVS26, and those present will be able to drive both a Nissan Leaf and Chevy Volt with the opportunity to see Plugless Power in action.
Evatran will use the symposium to demonstrate how Plugless Power works, including its alignment process and object detection technology. Personnel from the firm will be on hand to explain the charging process and answer questions from interested participants. Further, they will be happy to talk with manufacturer reps about incorporating the technology into production vehicles.
The company’s participation in EVS26 is part of their launch of a trial program, encouraging the adoption of electric vehicles and wireless charging technology. Prototypes used in the tests, including Nissan LEAF and Chevy Volt models, will be on display at their booth. In the next phase of testing, commercial partners will be invited to join Hertz, Google, and Duke Energy in testing Plugless Power on their EV fleets.
"Interest in wireless charging is at an all time high in the electric vehicle market and we're excited to unveil the current generation of our product at EVS26,” said Rebecca Hough, CEO of Evatran. “Wireless charging is no longer simply about transferring power over a gap; the market is demanding seamless integration into vehicles, safety features, and the incorporation of a simple user interface. With design considerations for each of these requirements, Plugless Power will be showcased as the most production-ready technology available in the market."
Potential partners are encouraged to contact the firm via email at info@evatran.com to arrange a personal appointment with members of the sales or executive team.
