The 2020 Toyota 4Runner comes standard with remote engine start on several trim levels. But is it on yours? Find out below.
The refreshed 2020 Toyota 4Runner comes with many new safety and technology upgrades and additions. Some of these updates are Toyota Safety Sense, larger 8-inch multimedia touch screens, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay and rear USB ports.
Another feature you may have on your 2020 4Runner and not even know it is remote engine start. Let’s explore this further.
Two ways to remotely start your 2020 4Runner
The 2020 Toyota 4Runner provides two different ways to start your vehicle remotely. The first way is through the Remote Connect application as part of Toyota Connected Services, while the second method is from the key fob itself.
Remote Connect allows you to perform many functions right from your smartphone, including starting and stopping your vehicle’s engine. It also includes a vehicle finder, as well as letting you check your windows, moonroof, trunk, and fuel level from your phone. This is an excellent way to easily know if you need to get gas on the way home from work without having to go to your car first and check.
What 2020 4Runner trim levels have remote start?
The ability to remotely start your Toyota 4Runner from either your phone or the key is directly tied to the audio system. Grade levels that include Premium Audio with a JBL audio system have remote start.
Plan on the 2020 4Runner Limited (4x2 and 4x4), Nightshade Special Edition (4x2 and 4x4) and the TRD Pro to include remote start as standard equipment.
