America’s best-selling SUV has many great qualities and strengths. One of them is towing. Find out what the tow capacity is for all 2020 RAV4 models.

When Toyota redesigned its incredibly popular RAV4 for the 2019 model year, they tried to make sure all the important boxes were checked. It has sporty and rugged interior and exterior styling, the latest safety features (including Toyota Safety Sense 2.0) and it comes loaded with technology. Plus, it also has the ability to tow.

A vehicle’s towing capacity has a direct impact on what owners can do with their truck or SUV. In the case of 2020 RAV4, it means people can pull trailers, transport bikes and luggage, and do many other great activities in the outdoors.

But what can each grade of the 2020 RAV4 pull?

What are the 2020 RAV4 trim levels?

I have written stories in the past breaking down 2019 RAV4 trim levels. Once a person determines they want to buy a specific model, the next logical step is to narrow down what grade they want. This is a difficult task for sure.

The 2020 Toyota RAV4 is separated into gasoline and hybrid trim levels. The gasoline trims are LE, XLE, XLE Premium, Limited, Adventure and the new 2020 RAV4 TRD Off-Road. Hybrid grades consist of LE, XLE, Limited and XSE.

All of these RAV4 offerings have a tow capacity of different ranges.

Towing for 2020 RAV4 Hybrid

If I had to personally choose my favorite current Toyota vehicle, it would be the RAV4 Hybrid. If you want an SUV that has strong horsepower (219hp), gets great gas mileage (40mpg combined) and is a really good value for the price, the 2020 RAV4 Hybrid might be worth putting on your short list for your next purchase. The RAV4 Hybrids are very popular all across the country right now for these reasons and many more.

All 2019 and 2020 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid vehicles have a towing capacity of 1,750 pounds.

2020 RAV4 gasoline tow capacities

If you select a 2020 RAV4 utilizing gasoline only, there are a couple different options to go with. Both the Adventure trim and the all-new 2020 TRD Off-Road have a towing capacity of 3,500 pounds. The remainder of RAV4’s lineup can pull 1,500 pounds.

Time for your thoughts on Toyota RAV4

Have a 2012 V6 SX6 RAV4. Can tow 1900kg and 190kg ball weight. Won't part with it until its dead. As it is, shes only done 132000km and still drives like new. Toyota need to bring back the 2GR engine for me to look at another Rav in future.
