All-new 2021 Sienna has added several convenient features to make things so much easier for families.
A big hassle. Inconvenient. Cumbersome. Nowhere to put things. Awkward. Difficult.
These are all ways to describe things parents do not want to hear about or think about with their vehicles. Especially their minivans.
Instead, they want convenience and ease of use and storage and connectivity and space.
If you find yourself daydreaming about a smooth carpool experience, or maybe a perfect family road trip, you may want to consider the all-new 2021 Toyota Sienna.
Here are the ways 2021 Toyota Sienna is convenient, spacious and affordable for you and your family.
2021 Sienna mpg
Perhaps the most challenging aspect to get used to with this fourth-generation 2021 Sienna is the fact that is only available as a hybrid. Yep, a hybrid.
This next-gen minivan combines a 2.5-liter 4-cylinder engine with two electric motors to produce 245 net hybrid horsepower.
The main reason many people consider a hybrid vehicle is for improved gas mileage. The 2021 Sienna front-wheel drive has estimates of 36mpg in the city / 36mpg on the highway / 36mpg combined.
This is stunning and will save people so much money at the pump, especially on long road trips.
If you are worried about lack of power and acceleration due to its hybrid roots, I suggest you visit your local Toyota dealership to test for yourself. My impressions with the new Sienna are that it is smooth and quiet and accelerates nicely.
I will be curious to learn what you think.
2021 Toyota Sienna bridge deck
Take one look inside a new 2021 Sienna and you immediately see just how evolved this latest generation is.
Toyota refers to the tabletop deck separating the two front seats as a Bridge Deck. At first glance, it might give one impression. However, look again and you can see just how much storage is provided here.
There is storage underneath the deck. This is ideal to store purses and diaper bags and goodies you want out of sight.
There are plenty of cupholders (up to 18) and flat surfaces to hold phones and wallets and books and keys and anything else you can imagine.
Smart idea. I wonder who came up with that one. I wish it was me.
Plenty of USB ports in 2021 Sienna
Every passenger now has access to plug in and charge or play. Look for seven total USB ports. Three in the front row, two in the middle row and two in the third row.
I think we all know there will be more need for connectivity each year moving forward, and Toyota Sienna has us ready to go. I like that I was able to work “moving forward” slogan into my story.
A hands-free Toyota Sienna
I recently wrote a Torque News story about the side doors and back liftgate on 2021 Sienna.
Here is the link: Look, Sienna is hands-free.
All 2021 Toyota Sienna trim levels XLE and above have the ability to open and close the sliding side doors and back hatch with a simple kicking motion.
I have tested this out several times. The doors are activated quickly with this process and it takes very little learning curve to master.
VIDEO DEMO: See hands-free Sienna in action.
Really easy to use.
I will take “Sienna Potpourri” for $1000 please Alex
A few other cool features jump out at me as well that might intrigue you too.
- The Bird’s Eye View camera gives drivers and passengers a clear look to see just how close potential obstacles may be. This is especially useful in parking lots and will help prevent many fender benders.
- Available digital rear-view mirror eliminates back seat obstructions and shows a clear image of what is behind the vehicle.
- I find the third-row seats easier to set up and stow than the previous generation.
