Life just got easier for 2022 Tundra buyers – thanks in part to all-new camera views.

There is a lot to get excited about with the all-new Toyota Tundra. Look for completely new and modernized powertrain, multimedia, safety, interior and exterior styling.

Plus, greater visibility thanks in part to plenty of new camera viewpoints and angles.

2022 Toyota Tundra Release Date

Since I get this question a lot from viewers on my “ToyotaJeff Reviews” YouTube channel, I will put this section first.

Tundra 2022 will offer two different engine options for potential buyers.

First, the 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6 engine that produces 389 horsepower and 479 lb.-ft. torque. This should be available for retail sale by the end of the year. Most likely December time frame.

Next, the Tundra hybrid option. Toyota is calling this i-Force MAX. This combines the same 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6 engine with an electric motor generator, giving drivers 437 horsepower and 583 lb.-ft. torque.

Expect the 2022 Tundra i-Force MAX to arrive sometime in the Spring.

2022 Toyota Tundra Cameras

Since there is so much information to discuss about next-gen Toyota Tundra, I will try and focus on a different Tundra topic over the course of the next couple months.

Particularly interesting to me are the new camera systems found in 2022 Toyota Tundra. Mixed in with current Toyota model cameras, new views offer greater visibility for passengers than ever before.

Choose from standard backup camera, Panoramic View Monitor and Multi-Terrain Monitor.

These available cameras allow you to see various viewpoints including in front of, behind, along the sides of, overhead, in the truck bed and at the trailer / towing hookup.

Panoramic View Monitor (PVM) is standard on 2022 Tundra Platinum, 1794 and TRD Pro. It is available as part of a package in SR5 and Limited.

Multi-Terrain Monitor (MTM) is standard on TRD Pro. You can upgrade to the MTM on the SR5, Limited and 1794.

Time for Your Toyota Tundra Comments

I was pleasantly surprised by not only the sheer number of cameras available on 2022 Toyota Tundra, but by how crystal clear the display shows on the all-new multimedia touch screen. Especially the massive 14-inch touch screen.

I am glad Toyota chose to invest in this technology. This improved visibility is crucial considering the sheer size of a Tundra and the demands involved with towing and trailering.

What do you think of the new cameras, including pitch and roll meters? What impressions do you have of the new Toyota Tundra so far?

Thanks for reading everyone. See you next story when I discuss all changes coming to 2022 Highlander.

25 year loyal toyota driver. Over 200k miles on small v8 2002 Tundra, bought 2014 Tacoma because new Tundras then got 13 mpg. Been teased for over a year about fantastic new 2022 Tundra. It's mid October, and dealers still can't answer questions about fuel economy, prices or options packages. I've had enough teasing. I plan on buying a new 2021 GMC Sierra next week!
