See what is new for 2022 Highlander, including the feature people have been asking about for years.
Toyota has been busy this year.
We have all-new models coming (Corolla Cross), redesigned 2022 models (Tundra), new trim levels, and updates across the board.
Including 2022 Toyota Highlander.
2022 Toyota Highlander Updates
This is not a model year in which Toyota Highlander will be redesigned, nor will it be refreshed.
However, there are some interesting changes coming you may be interested in.
Look for new colors, new trim level, and a feature update many Highlander fans have been calling for.
2022 Highlander Changes
Yes, there is a new Highlander Bronze Edition coming for 2022.
The feature I am most interested in, though, is the addition of a particular power seat.
All 2022 Highlander models XLE grade and above will receive an 8-way power passenger seat.
No, not a 4-way power seat like most Toyota models carry.
TOYOTA VIDEO YOU MAY ENJOY: My review of all-new 2022 Tundra SR5
An 8-way power passenger seat offers the ability to move up and down, twist forward and backward, slide back and forth, and recline the seat back.
This is significant. Especially for Toyota Highlander owners who ride with a co-pilot most of the time.
Comfort is key here, and prospective buyers and new owners should be pleased with the addition.
2022 Toyota Highlander Bronze Edition
Based on the Highlander Hybrid XLE, this all-new Highlander trim level may be most recognizable for its many bronze-colored exterior and interior accents.
Highlander Hybrid Bronze Edition is only offered in hybrid form.
Look for a 2.5-liter 4-cylinder engine working with two electric motors. This produces 243 net hybrid horsepower and averages up to 36 miles per gallon combined. You can purchase it either as front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive.
Towing capacity is 3,500 pounds.
Bronze Edition features 18-inch bronze wheels, bronze interior stitching, SofTex seats with fabric inserts and bronze accents, illuminated bronze door sills, bronze logo, and bronze-accented cargo and carpet mats.
Give me a bronze medal for using the word “bronze” so much in that last paragraph please.
Plan on factory MSRP of $43,880 for front-wheel drive and $45,480 for all-wheel drive.
Three color options will be available with 2022 Highlander Hybrid Bronze Edition.
2022 Highlander Colors
Highlander Bronze Edition gives buyers three colors to choose from. Pick from Midnight Black Metallic, Cement, and Wind Chill Pearl.
Both Wind Chill Pearl and Cement are new to Toyota Highlander 2022.
Time for your Toyota Highlander Comments
Thanks for reading everyone.
What do you think of the updates coming to 2022 Highlander? Will you have interest in a Highlander Bronze Edition?
By the way, how about that 36mpg (I got better)?

First, 243 hp in the hybrid
First, 243 hp in the hybrid isn't enough. I'll stick to the 3.5 to have plenty of passing power. I don't want to stay in the oncoming lane any more than necessary.
Second, that bronze interior must be from grannies living room cushions. Uglier than a mud fence.
Third, the passenger seat is very welcome.
Fourth, when the heck do we get the Grand Highlander with decent third row seating and luggage room behind the third row? It's only good for two people now,not 7-8 passengers.
Completely agree with all
Completely agree with all that you said , I have a 2012 Highlander and I am ready for next one, unfortunately they became Mini highlanders , I would welcome a grand Highlander
The hybrid w AWD is fast
The hybrid w AWD is fast enough. Third row for kids. Wish the 3rd seat was removable or deletable.
