If you have seen any of my other articles you know that I am pro battery reconditioning. Sometimes, batteries just need replacement though. If you find yourself in that boat, there can be many shops petitioning for your business.

I think there needs to be a shortlist of options that anyone can look at and see what is best for them. That is when I had the brilliant idea to make a list. Here are the 3 best full replacement battery options for Toyota Prius.

If your Prius is struggling with a P0A80 trouble code, take a look for these options if you want to just get the hybrid battery replaced.

Toyota Prius, Meet Green Bean Battery
If you are not familiar with this company, you should take a second look. Green Bean Battery has recently gone from great, to awesome. Here is why.

The company offers batteries for your Toyota Prius as low as $1,449, installed. That is pretty remarkable. What also makes this company so great, is they now offer a Lifetime warranty on their batteries. They do have terms you need to read, for the warranty, but it does state it is transferrable.

For the price and the fact that Green Bean Batteries in almost every state, they are a good bet you will end up with a replacement battery that will exceed your expectations.

Toyota Prius, Meet BumbleBee Battery
This shop is doing some wondrous work. They are giving you more than just one option to choose from. With refurbished batteries starting as low as $1,050, this company knows how to help on a budget. This "Beeline" economy option carries a standard one year warranty.

The "BeeMax" line comes in two options. You can get a standard 6.5Ah battery version or a larger 8Ah version. The 6.5 version carries a 1-year warranty and the 8Ah carries a 3-year warranty with the option to get an extended warranty at the time of purchase. Prices for the 6.5Ah battery are $1,849 and the 8Ah battery is $2,249. Warranties are also fully transferable.

Bumblebee has a network of shops that can install the battery for you unless you want to install it yourself. Prices are pretty comparable to that of Green Bean Battery, but with more available options better suited to your budget.

Toyota Prius, Meet New Prius Batteries
New Prius Batteries has sprung up as an option to refurbished batteries. I have written about other battery options before you can check out that article here as well.

New Prius batteries are giving the DIY person a long term solid fix solution to single module replacement. These batteries are completely new and have zero wear on them. Aging battery modules get voltage depressions or memory wear, which will happen to these due to their chemistry. The pro for using this setup is that they start fresh as a patch of daisies.

Coming in at a pretty fair price of $1,600 this is affordable for most Toyota Prius owners. The only downside is, if you are not tech-savvy or good with high voltage, this option is not for you.

The warranty is not the greatest, but since the batteries are new, you should not need a super robust one. 2 years or 25,000 miles is what they will give you. Plus you have to go through a third party warranty company.

Conclusion
All of these options are solid. Each one of them is reputable and can deliver the results you are looking for. I look forward to gathering more information on each company and sharing that with all of you. Until then, happy driving.

Look out for my posts later on next week from the SEMA Show in Las Vegas, Nevada where I will be looking at all the new features of the 2020 Toyota Prius and what all the hype is about.
