Stuck at home with not much to do? Cabin fever is real. Try doing one or all of these projects to spruce up your Prius or fix an unwanted issue.
So how about this Corona Virus Apocolypse? Well, if you are like many who have decided or been asked to stay at home, you may find yourself foaming at the mouth with cabin fever. If this is the case, it may be time to get busy and take care of that Prius.
I have come up with three things you can do to freshen up your ride ( and also disinfect it too) to get you ready to roll when this whole COVID-19 thing passes over, which inevitably will. Take a look and see what you can do while you wait.
Cleaning Your Prius
The first thing that I would do would be to clean my Prius. The Corona Virus is no joke, and if you think you or someone who has ridden in your car has had it. Get cleaning. If you are all out of hand sanitizer and disinfectant wipes, do not fret. Warm water and hand soap go a long way.
Do Your Maintenance
Remember how you were too busy to get your oil changed? Now is a great time to get that and a bunch of other required items done. Good thing YouTube is around to show you how to do a few things, and Amazon is still delivering.
If it were me, I would make sure that my oil was changed, transmission fluid was changed, spark plugs, air filter, cabin filter, and coolant. Doing some essential required maintenance will not only keep you busy, but you will learn a thing or two in the process. Another great bonus is you can save big doing these things yourself, and help is available from your couch.
The thing is, you probably have time to make an online shopping list. Get it ordered, watch the videos you need, and then get busy once your stuff arrives. If you are like me, you can head out to your favorite house of parts and get it the same day, but that is me. Whatever you decide to get done, it will help you feel accomplished. Plus, your Prius will thank you.
Learn To Recondition Your Hybrid Battery
You all have heard me harp time and time again about taking care of your hybrid battery. The reason being is that it needs love too. Right now, if you are in quarantine, you can get everything you need to complete this project and then do it.
I enjoy telling people to visit the free training website about reconditioning batteries because you learn what you need to do to keep your hybrid battery healthy. The other thing about this, too, is what if you cannot get a new battery due to this whole Corona Virus thing? Better plan and keep your Prus in tip-top shape before you owe more than it is worth.
