Toyota has issued a massive recall affecting many of the automakers line up. Here is what you need to know and if your Prius is effected.
Toyota is not new to recalls. The automaker has been through some severe ones over the years, and this latest recall is no exception.
The question that Toyota Prius owners are asking is, does this affect my car? Here is what you need to know about the recall that Toyota has issued.
What Is A Fuel Pump?
A fuel pump is simply that, a pump that delivers fuel to the engine. If the fuel pump is faulty, the engine can stall out, leaving the occupants stranded.
The scary part is this could happen while driving. If that were the case and the engine shut off, and the driver could potentially lose control.
What Vehicles Are Under Recall?
As of this moment, here is the list of vehicles that are under recall. The recall is for certain 2018 and 2019 Lexus LS 500, LC 500, RC 350, RC 300, GS 350, IS 300, ES 350, LX 570, GX 460, and RX 350 models.
Also included are certain 2018 and 2019 Toyota 4Runner, Camry, Highlander, Land Cruiser, Sequoia, Sienna, Tacoma, and Tundra models. Some 2019 models also are affected, including the Avalon and Corolla.
Thank goodness that Prius is not on this list. However, that does not mean it will be exempt from it. Toyota has been known to add more models as the information develops. Adding more cars to the list could mean serious problems for Prius owner and also Toyota Motor Corp. To see more on Prius recalls, please look at this article here.
Conclusion
I will keep up on the latest updates from Toyota regarding this recall notice. Owners should hear from Toyota starting in March. If you own any of the vehicles on the list above and feel unsafe, please contact your Toyota dealer.
