The 2020 Chevrolet Blazer is an attractive street-oriented crossover that has design, inspired by Chevy Camaro. Keep reading to see why I think the 2020 Blazer is more reliable than the 2019 model.
GM had introduced the new Blazer in the 2019, despite the name being in the automotive lexicon for decades. And since the new blazer was introduced only in 2019 the 2020 model doesn't come with much changes. Only a few small changes come with the 2020 model and of course, that affects the price.
The all new 2020 Chevrolet Blazer starts at $28,800 and depending on the trim can reach to $43,895 for the Premier option. I was test driving the 2020 Blazer 3LT leather AWD and the price on my model's Monroney sticker was $41,595 as the vehicle's total delivery price.
2020 Chevrolet Blazer Powertrain and Specs
My 2020 3LT Blazer came with a 2.0L Turbo 4-cylinder engine and 9-speed automatic transmission for 2.0L Turbo engine.
On the exterior it really looks like a nice Camaro, except it's a crossover SUV. I don't know if GM wants to appear to the Camaro demographic who may want to buy an SUV and would choose the Blazer.
The 2020 Blazer has an excellent suspension. I enjoyed test-driving it and it has a nice grip of the road. The drive is a pleasant experience. The performance of the powertrain is worthy of note. The liveliness of this engine (most models come with V6 engine) provides a lot of driving pleasure, as does the speed and efficiency of the nine-speed automatic transmission. It is a combination that goes perfectly with the style of the Blazer. Some will complain about the disengageable all-wheel drive, in the sense that you have to think of activating it when the cold season arrives, but I consider that it allows an appreciable fuel economy. For me, this is another point in favor of the Blazer.
2020 Chevy Blazer's Reliability
If I were to write about the 2019 Blazer, I would be cautious as we would be dealing with a first year model. But since the 2020 Blazer is already the second year model, I will have more liberty to say, it should be a very reliable model. As I mentioned above Chevrolet has made some small changes from the 2019 model and presented a very good looking crossover.
Blazer is generally considered to be a new kid in the segment. The American automaker's SUV comes standard with a 2.5-liter 4-cylinder engine that delivers 193 horsepower and 188 pound-feet of torque. The latter is connected to a 9-speed automatic transmission and a standard traction train. Next is the classic 3.6-liter V6 engine with 305 horsepower and 269 pound-feet of torque, an engine found in most models across the General Motors range. The only difference compared to the 4-cylinder engine is that the latter can be combined with an all-wheel drive. This gives the driver an advantage for your cargo needs.
The 2020 Blazer has a 23 miles per gallon city/highway combined. The City MPG is 21, while the highway MPG is 27.
The 2020 Blazer benefits from the superiority of General Motors in term of Technology. It offers a Wi-Fi access point, which is not offered on some of its competitors like the Ford Edge. In addition, the Blazer can be equipped with a 360-degree camera, an essential tool when you want to drive off-road or when parking in cities where the streets are more compact.
The 2020 Blazer offers seating for five passengers, with a three-across bench-seat arrangement in back. The back seat is spacious. The infotainment system is fully stocked and things like push-button start and HD rear-view cameras are standard. It also has dual-zone automatic climate control, an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system and Chevrolet's Rear Seat reminder tech, so you don't leave your kids or pets in the car accidentally. I like this a lot, especially considering how busy our society is today with work and daily cares.
When it comes to the design, I find the 2020 Chevrolet Blazer aesthetically beautiful. It has an athletic look. The exterior design of the Chevrolet Blazer is more dynamic and flamboyant than that of the Edge if I can compare them. The Chevrolet Blazer is also significantly prettier than the GMC Acadia.
Here is a brief video review of the 2020 Chevrolet Blazer, which I am offering to watch as a complement to our review.
