The 2021 Cadillac XT6 is a comfortable, elegant and segment-leading SUV with 3 rows, new mechanics and new finishes. It offers a very pleasant driving experience. No wonders sales of this SUV have increased 18 percent during the Q1 2021.

The Cadillac XT6 is a 3-row midsize SUV, sharing its wheelbase with the GMC Acadia, Cadillac XT5, and Chevrolet Blazer. For 2021, add the Luxury trim, a turbocharged 4-cylinder engine, and wireless compatibility from Android Auto and Apple Car Play. The XT6 is the luxury counterpart to the Chevrolet Traverse and Buick Enclave.

The 2021 Cadillac XT6 Trims
The 2021 Cadillac XT6 has three main trims: Luxury, Premium Luxury and Sport. Cadillac says XT6 Luxury and Premium Luxury models features grilles and other exterior trim with bright metallic and/or galvano finishes, while the Sport features a V-Series-inspired mesh grille and black exterior trim Like the Premium Luxury, the Sport rides on 20-inch wheels. Premium Luxury cars come with front-wheel drive, but all-wheel drive is optional. The Sport trim brings all-wheel drive only, and they offer a handful of cosmetic and performance differences, with the same features, adding a tailored suspension, glossy black exterior trim and towing aids. The difference is that its wheels have a 12-spoke design that have dark android satin finish pockets. Another exterior difference is that the Premium Luxury has a chrome accent on its door handles while the Sport does not.

Powertrain and Engine of 2021 Cadillac XT6
The Luxury comes with a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine with 237 horsepower, 258 pound-feet of torque. The Premium Luxury and Sport trims feature a 3.6-liter V6 engine with 310 horsepower, 271 pound-feet of torque with a nine-speed automatic transmission. Properly equipped, the XT6 can tow up to 4,000 pounds.

Mileage and Whether The 2021 Cadillac XT6 Requires Premium Gas
Despite being a luxury SUV the 2021 Cadillac XT6 does not require premium gas. Yet, it's quite powerful and gets decent MPG for its size. The combined city/highway is 21 MPG, while city is 18 and highway is 25 MPG.

Pricing
The Luxury trim of the 2021 Cadillac XT6 starts at $48,045. It's AWD version starts at $50,045. The Premium Luxury trims start at $52,945 and $54,945 respectcively for FWD and AWD. The Sports trim of the 2021 Cadillac XT6 comes with a $57,445 price tag and it only has an AWD option. However, with all the added options the price rises to $71,565.

The Exterior
The hallmark of the Cadillac XT6 are the vertical daytime running lights that flank both the front and rear and provide that more technological touch, along with other chrome that achieve a touch of elegance on the outside. As we move backwards, his style becomes more generic, at least until he lags behind.

Another of the strengths of its design is at the rear, thanks to LED optics in the shape of a 'T', a chrome that joins both light groups and a double exhaust system in the lower part of the bumper. The Cadillac XT6's design isn't overly groundbreaking, but it does draw attention with its rugged appearance , a sloping roof, and generously sized sets of alloy wheels.

2021 Cadillac XT6 Interior
The design and quality of materials seem to match what you will find in other Cadillacs, making it attractive. The fairly comfortable front seats have effective heating and cooling functions, but they lack some adjustability. The reclining captain's chairs in the second row are relatively comfortable.

The cargo area lift height is a bit high, and storage behind the third-row seats, at 12.6 cubic feet, is below average. The maximum load capacity is 78.7 cubic feet more appropriate for the class.

The 2021 brings Apple CarPlay and Android Auto with wireless compatibility with six charging options plus a cordless phone charger. Cadillac decided to add a rotary controller to complement its touch screen interface, when most other manufacturers are getting rid of them. The optional Bose audio system has very good sound clarity.

Premium Luxury highlights include a sunroof, hands-free liftgate, heated front seats, and heated steering wheel, among other luxurious touches.

Infotainment features include an 8-inch touchscreen with a secondary dial controller, satellite radio, six USB ports (two for each row of seats), a 4G LTE Wi-Fi connection, and a wireless device charging pad.

The Sport version, the one I tested, comes with the same features, but adds a tailored suspension, gloss black exterior trim accents, and towing aids.

Several options are available for both models, with highlights including an improved Bose sound system, a navigation system, improved leather upholstery and interior trim, and adapted cruise control.

Safety of 2021 Cadillac XT6

Standard safety features include antilock disc brakes, traction and stability control, front airbags, curtain airbags, and driver's knee airbag. OnStar support includes automatic crash notification, requested roadside assistance, remote door unlocking, and stolen vehicle assistance.

The Driver Awareness package includes low speed forward collision mitigation, a following distance indicator and lane keep assist.

The Enhanced Visibility Package adds a suite of additional cameras, including one displayed in the rearview mirror, as well as an automatic parking feature, front and rear parking sensors, blind spot surveillance, and a seat that vibrates to alert. to the driver.

You can get the rear view camera, which fills the rear view mirror with a real-time image from a rear-mounted camera. Night vision, which uses infrared to detect pedestrians or large animals beyond the range of headlights, is optional.

I like the driving aids on the XT6. Adaptive cruising works well, but the lane keep system is more of a prevention aid than an active centering aid.

Is The 2021 Cadillac XT6 a Reliable Car?
The 2021 Cadillac XT6 is a well built SUV. People must find it reliable because in the United States, Cadillac XT6 deliveries totaled 5,990 units in Q1 2021, an increase of about 18 percent compared to 5,074 units sold in Q1 2020. The segment is currently led by the Acura MDX with 16,988 sales and the Mercedes-Benz GLE-Class in second with 16,668 sales. The BMW X5 and X6 took third followed by the XT6’s corporate cousin – the Buick Enclave in fourth, the Volvo XC90 in fifth, followed by the Audi Q7 (see Audi Q7 sales) in sixth, and the Lincoln Aviator (see Lincoln Aviator sales) in seventh. The Infiniti QX60 was the only model outsold by the XT6.

Is the Cadillac XT6 bigger than the XT5?
Yes, the 2021 Cadillac XT6 is longer than the XT5 at 198.5 inches, and taller at 69.9 inches. The 2021 XT5 stands at 66.1 inches high and is 189.6 inches long. The Cadillac XT6 is a three-row crossover that sits right between the XT5 and the larger Escalade. Looking ahead to next year, Cadillac has wanted to improve the model with a series of subtle updates that continue its strategy of moving away from making cars with boring design to usher in a new era in which models are given greater personality.

Driving Experience
Our test model, the XT6 Sport, did a good job on highways and local roads. The XT6's 3.6-liter V6 engine is sufficient for a vehicle of this size. Interestingly, the all-wheel drive system does not engage automatically, so you have to manually shift it when you think you need it. This vehicle is not for off-road areas. Overall, it is a pleasant driving experience, in a very comfortable vehicle. In my opinion, the Cadillac 2021 XT6 is a good luxury midsize SUV. This vehicle's cargo capacity eclipses that of many rivals, and it has three rows of spacious seats. But check the other vehicles in the class to make your decision on this vehicle.
