Fiat has teamed up with Garage Italia and Pinninfarina to celebrate Fiat's 60th anniversary with this convertible Fiat 500 called Spiaggina. Now someone has to convert one into an E, making Fiat 500e more appealing to electric car buyers.
The Fiat 500 Spiaggina is fun, but I wish it was also electric.
Garage Italia studio and Pininfarina design studio in cooperation with Fiat technical specialists have built a special version of the Fiat 500 - Spiaggina. This car looks like a usual "beach" car. But from a usual beach car the Spiaggina Fiat 500 differs by lacking a roof. This convertible Fiat has a low windshield, a small cargo area and a protective top.
The Fiat 500 Spiaggina by Garage Italia is created in the style of the same model, which existed in 1960s. The announcement came last year, but it was ready 2 days ago. This is how Fiat celebrates it's 60th anniversary.
The body of the car is painted in "summer" colors: a shade of blue called Volare Blue and white - Perla White. Fiat has put together this cool video presenting the 500 Spiaggina.
Fiat 500 Spiaggina for Sale
Interestingly, Garage Italia is ready to take up the small-scale production of the Fiat 500 Spiaggina. And apparently you can order the car through the official Feat dealers. True, we don't know the price of the 500 Spiaggina, but it's already known that you can equip this car with any engine available for the Fiat 500 (1.2 liters at 69 hp and 0.9 l turbo TwinAir at 85 liters. from.).
We need EV 500 Spiaggina
I wish they also consider the EV option of Spiaggina. it should not be difficult to do.
"That might be a fun project; converting a 500e into a topless 500e like that pictures. After all the color is almost a match for the electric blue used on some 500e’s. You just need to remove hardtop, add toolbar and custom front glass. Then you add a half color wrap and whitewall treads," wrote one 500e owner on Facebook in a group actively discussing how cool it would be to convert the Spiaggina int an EV.
Let us know what you think about the design and the look of the Fiat 500 convertible. Would you like the availability of its EV version? Please, share your thoughts in the comments section below for discussion.
I have a Fiat 500e that I
I have a Fiat 500e that I would LOVE to convert to a convertible. I continue to hope Fiat or the Mini Cooper folks will offer a cabriolet or convertible version of their EVs.
