Paris Hilton and Ferrari had a good Black Friday. The celebrity got a red Ferrari California and the luxury sports car-maker celebrated a sale.
According to TMZ a red Ferrari, which judging from the delivery looks like a Ferrari California, was delivered to Paris Hilton's Mulholland Estates home just before midday today. The price of Ferrari California is estimated 277,500 dollars.
The luxury car was delivered on truck and was driven to the gated neighborhood where Hilton lives.
The good thing about buying a Ferrari on a Black Friday is that one does not have to wait online. Neither Walmart nor Target sell this brand. The down side of it, is that this car is very expensive.
Yet, those who buy a car like Ferrari California, are less concerned about the price. As an friend, who works for Porsche, once said, "the people who buy our cars have got the money. They are looking for a great performance, not necessarily a cheap price."
Ferrari California is a convertible GT, which provides great driving pleasure in different driving conditions. "The Ferrari California is the first Ferrari Gran Turismo with a mid-front 8-cylinder engine: a vehicle that uncompromisingly combines sportiness with versatility, guaranteeing the maximum driving pleasure characteristic of cars from Maranello," reads the product description on the automaker's website.
The fact that Paris got her car on a Black Friday, has some people asking in forums: did she get a deal?
Deal or no deal we don't know, but Ferrari, reported will offer right of first refusal to its elite customers. This preferential treatment will be offered to its select customers when the company comes up with a limited edition of new models, reports Automotive News.
The company plans to build one of the most exclusive clubs in the automotive industry, promoting its longstanding customers at the expense of new buyers. To be eligible, one must have or have had at least five Ferrari cars. There are only 300 people in the world who may currently quality to this requirement. These lucky few will have the opportunity to obtain limited edition models before anyone else.
The Italian automaker wants to have this program in place to avoid dissapointing its loyal clientele. Some of these elite clients apparently have lamented the lack of consideration to them when Ferrari produced only 80 units of SA Aperta.
Good deal Paris. Yet, I am
Good deal Paris. Yet, I am disappointed that Ferrari is going exclusive and giving its elite customers a preferential treatment. Great Luxury cars are disappearing for an average driver who has got the money to purchase them. Today Daimler announced it will end Maybach production in 2013. Maybach gone, Ferrari gone, who is next?
I think this is just Vanity
I think this is just Vanity of vanities. Whether we driver a Ferrari or a Chevy Spark, we are all going to end up in the same place.
