Rocker Sammy Hagar to Headline Barrett-Jackson Welcome Concert

The rocker will be the big performer at the Barrett-Jackson "Rock the Block" concert this Friday. Hagar recently sold a vehicle through Barrett-Jackson that brought in an extraordinary price.

The world’s most famous car auction continues to innovate as it tries to keep up with the evolving auto market. The auction is known around the world for selling incredible collector cars. As I recently reported, this year, Barrett-Jackson will auction for charity, the first 2025 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 supercar. In recent years, the auction held in Scottsdale, Arizona, has added rock concerts to draw in even more crowds. This year, Barrett-Jackson has landed a car-loving rocker known for hits like “I Can’t Drive 55” and “Summer Nights”. Sammy Hagar will headline the Rock the Block concert on Friday, January 17th, 2025.

Sammy Hagar Car Collector

I’m not kidding when I say that Sammy Hagar is a car lover. Just this past fall he auctioned off a spectacular Ferrari at the new Barrett-Jackson fall auction. The super car Hagar sold was a rare 2015 La Ferrari and it was sold for a world record setting $4,675,000. The catalogue described the sports car this way:

“This one-of-one custom 2015 Ferrari LaFerrari was built and designed for Rock & Roll Hall of Famer Sammy Hagar. It is powered by a naturally aspirated 6.3-liter V12 engine with an electric motor for a combined 949hp and 664 ft/lbs of torque. A new high-voltage lithium-ion battery for the electric motor was installed by Ferrari of San Francisco in 2024. This rear-wheel-drive vehicle is capable of going 0 to 60 mph in under 3 seconds and reaching a top speed of over 217 mph. This LaFerrari is equipped with a Kinetic Energy Recovery System (KERS) that was developed through Ferrari's Formula 1 cars and provides bursts of extra power at the driver's discretion. Other highlights include magnetorheological dampers and carbon-ceramic disc brakes. This LaFerrari sits atop a carbon-fiber monocoque chassis with double-wishbone front suspension and multi-link rear suspension, and rides on forged aluminum 19x9.5 front and 20x13 rear wheels. The carbon-fiber bodywork was styled entirely in-house by Ferrari and the exterior is finished in Cream over a Cream interior with carbon-fiber and black accents throughout. The interior also boasts a Harman Kardon audio system with four speakers. Included with the sale of the LaFerrari is a special replica model of the vehicle Hagar received as a gift from Ferrari, in addition to a book of the build process and a display plaque signed by Hagar from when the vehicle was displayed at The Quail. 1,566 actual miles.”

No wonder Hagar can’t drive 55.

Barrett-Jackson Legacy

The auction started in the late 1960’s but has grown exponentially over the years. Last year, the event featured its largest auction docket in company history with 2,016 collectible vehicles, all selling for a total of $200.9 million in auction sales. Additionally, Barrett-Jackson sold 1,180 pieces of authentic automobilia for $6.7 million, bringing total auction sales to $207.6 million, the most for a single auction in Barrett-Jackson history.

One of the highlights of this year’s auction is the charity sale of the first 2025 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1. It is expected to raise millions for the American Red Cross.

This year’s Barrett-Jackson auction will run from January 18-26, in Scottsdale, Arizona.
