The 2012 Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4 hasn’t been official unveiled yet, but pre-orders for the next generation of Italian supercar are already streaming in, with over 50 orders in Singapore alone.
There haven’t been any official figures handed out thus far on the number of pre-orders made for the 2012 Lamborghini Aventador but thanks to AsiaOne we know that at Singapore Lamborghini, “over 50” 2012 LP700-4’s have already been ordered. Dealership head Melvin Goh told AsiaOne that last month, Lamborghini delivered the Aventador to his dealership for a private preview before heading off to a handful of other stops around the Orient.
The Asian market is the key target for automakers around the world and with Singapore being one of the fastest growing economies in the world with a GDP growth of 17.9% in the first half of 2010, this particular area is ripe for the high performance luxury car pickens. While sales are strong across the entire industry in the Asian auto race, this massive growth is ideal for the high end manufacturers that are feeling an impact from the American recession.
The 2012 Aventador LP700-4 is expected to make its grand debut at the 2011 Geneva Motor Show in March but thanks to spyshots and a leaked order guide we already have a pretty good idea of what the Murciélago replacement will look like and we also know that it will be fast – real fast. Powered by a 690 horsepower V12 and mated to an advanced all wheel drive system and automatic transmission, the LP700-4 is expected to rocket from 0-62mph (100kmh) in just 2.9 seconds.
Lamborghini has secured a tradition of premium luxury in the form of some of the world’s fastest cars and the 2012 Aventador LP700-4 sounds like it will do an immaculate job of replacing the popular Murciélago.
