In case car lovers needed a reason to be happy that they live in the USA, we bring you the pricing of the 2015 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 in Germany – where owning the most track capable Corvette of all time comes with a massive upcharge over what Americans pay for the same 650hp supercar.
General Motors shook up the high performance world when they announced that the 2015 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 would carry a starting price of only $78,995 in coupe form and $83,995 for the drop top. Although this car will likely beat the C6 Corvette ZR1 that cost more than $112,000 in every way, the C7 Z06 has a starting price that is $34,000 less than the old ZR1. Not only will the new Corvette Z06 beat the C6 ZR1, but it will also take down a great many supercars from around the world that cost far more than $79k and that was the biggest reason why the MSRP was such a wonderful surprise.
The 2015 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 is an incredible value for a car of this level in the US and while it is still quite a bit less expensive than many of the supercars that it will beat on the German roads, German buyers can expect to pay way more than American buyers.
German Pricing for the 2015 Corvette Z06
The 2015 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 is set to dominate the high performance world on a global level so we expected that it would be sold in every major market outside of the US. Of course, in much the same way that a foreign car sold in the US costs more here than it does in its home domestic market, the new Corvette comes with a jump in price for German buyers.
Owning an American performance car in Germany can get expensive, so it should come as no surprise that buying one of the most track capable American cars of all time comes with an equally impressive price. German dealerships have an MSRP of 99,500 Euros for the 2015 Corvette Z06 Coupe, which converts to $124,156 with the current conversion rates. The droptop version in the US is $5,000 more than the coupe and in Germany, the Z06 convertible sports the same 5k markup but it is in Euros, so it is actually $6,239 more expensive for a total price of $130,395.
For those who don’t want to do the math, the German base MSRP is $45,161 higher than the American MSRP in coupe form while the 2015 Corvette Z06 convertible costs $46,400 more for German buyers.

Z07 Package Adds More Performance
Those German buyers of the 2015 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 can opt for the same Z07 package as American buyers. This package adds Brembo carbon ceramic brakes, a carbon fiber aero package and Michelin Pilot Super Sport Cup tires all around – while also adding 16,500 Euros to the final price, or $20,608 with the current conversion rates. That same package will only cost American buyers $7,995 so where a Corvette Z06 Coupe with the manual transmission and the Z07 package starts around $86,990, that same car will start around $144,882 (116,000 Euros). This is still less than some of the Italian supercars that will struggle to compete with the Z06, but that hefty markup serves as one more reminder why it is great to live in the good ol’ USA.
