2025 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 Claims Crown as Fastest Corvette Ever

Repeated track testing confirms that the 2025 Chevy Corvette ZR1 is the fastest street-legal Corvette ever. The ZR1 with a special performance package does 0-60 in 2.3 seconds.

The 2025 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 does 0-60 in 2.3 seconds, which is faster than you can read that sentence. That mind-blowing time makes the 2025 Corvette ZR1 the quickest Corvette ever. Much has been written about Chevrolet’s halo car that has 1,064 horsepower and recently reached a top speed of 233 miles per hour during testing in Europe. Now, Chevrolet confirms that the 2025 Corvette ZR1 equipped with the ZTK Performance Package can reach new records, running the quarter mile in 9.6 seconds.

“The 2025 Corvette ZR1 yet again exceeded our expectations,” said Josh Holder, chief engineer, Corvette. “Combined with a top speed record of 233 mph – which is unrivaled by any current production car priced under $1 million – the Corvette ZR1 delivers on its mission to provide customers unrelenting power.”

The 2025 ZR1 with the ZTK Package

The ZTK performance package helps boost the ZR1’s times but not dramatically. We are talking about a tenth of a second improvement in times. It may not matter to the average person but for the racer or the person who craves having the pinnacle of performance, the ZTK package will help them achieve the maximum out of their Vette. The ZTK package includes the high-downforce Carbon Fiber Aero Package. All tests were done with 93 octane pump fuel and were performed on a non-prepped drag strip surface. The ZTK-equipped ZR1 runs the quarter mile in 9.6 seconds. The standard ZR1 sprints to 60 mph in 2.5 seconds and finishes the quarter mile in 9.7 seconds.

The 2025 Corvette ZR1’s quick performance is enabled by Corvette’s standard Launch Control and Custom Launch Control features, found throughout the lineup from Stingray to ZR1. Launch Control is programmed to manage tire spin and transmission clutch application rate. Custom Launch Control allows the driver to have more control to adjust for real-time conditions, optimizing acceleration runs by adjusting launch RPM and wheel slip targets from the steering wheel controls.

C8 Versions and 0-60 Comparison Numbers

  • Stingray with available Z51 package: 2.9 seconds
  • Z06 with available Z07 package: 2.6 seconds
  • E-Ray: 2.5 seconds
  • ZR1 with available ZTK package: 2.3 seconds

October Corvette Speed Record

It was just two months ago that I wrote about GM President Mark Reuss joining the Corvette ZR1 testing team in Germany. Reuss drove a 2025 Corvette ZR1 233 mph, setting a top speed record beating any current production car priced under $1 million. The ZR1 is the fastest car GM has ever produced. The Corvette testing team took the ZR1 test cars to Papenburg, Germany, where there is a special test track. The two-way average speed was 233 mph on the northbound and southbound straightaways of the High-Speed Oval Track at ATP Automotive Testing Papenburg.

The 2025 Corvette ZR1 Key Performance Details

  • It has a 5.5L, twin-turbocharged LT7 DOHC flat-plane crank V8 engine
  • 1,064 horsepower at 7,000 rpm
  • 828 lb.-ft. of torque at 6,000 rpm
  • The most power ever from a factory Corvette
  • The most powerful V8 ever produced in America from an auto manufacturer
  • The fastest car ever built by an American auto manufacturer, capable of 233 mph
  • Carbon fiber aero package creating over 1,200 pounds of downforce at top speed

Not only is the 2025 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 beautiful, it truly can outperform any other sports car currently in production in North America.
