The 4xe package is the first Jeep Wrangler to feature all-electric driving and it does so with a very minor price increase, giving these models a great chance of succeeding beyond the traditional hybrid community, with pricing starting at $47,995 for the Sahara and $51,695 for the Rubicon.

The 2021 Jeep Wrangler 4xe is the first of the legendary off-road SUV to offer all-electric driving. When the hybrid Wrangler comes to market, it will be offered in Sahara and Rubicon trim, both of which come with the features of the Launch Edition package. FCA recently announced the base pricing for each of the Wrangler 4xe models and the numbers are quite aggressive, with the hybrid models starting just a couple grand more than similarly equipped non-hybrid Wranglers.
Wrangler 4xe Pricing
The 2021 Jeep Wrangler Sahara 4xe Launch Edition has a base price of $47,995 while the Wrangler Rubicon 4xe Launch Edition starts at $51,695. Neither of those prices include the unavoidable destination fee, so the Sahara 4xe actually starts at $49,490 and the Rubicon 4xe starts at $53,180.
For those who are unsure, the Wrangler 4xe package comes only in Unlimited (four door) form with the 2.0-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine and an 8-speed automatic transmission, along with an electric hybrid drive system. This system is designed to offer all-electric driving while also offering improved fuel economy when working with the gasoline engine. The system offers a total output of 375 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque, allowing it to sprint from a stop to 60 miles per hour in just 6 seconds, making it the quickest Wrangler shy of the upcoming 392 models.

Low Package Pricing
The non-hybrid 2021 Wrangler Sahara with the turbocharged 2.0-liter and the 8-speed automatic starts at $41,660 before destination, the 4xe Launch Edition package is more than just a hybrid drive setup. The package includes 20-inch wheels, leather seats, the LED lighting group, the 8.4-inch UConnect system with navigation, a 9-speaker audio system, the Selec-Trac four-wheel-drive system and Dana 44 HD axles. The 20-inch wheels and Dana 44 axles are not an option for the non-hybrid Wrangler Sahara, but when we add those other options, the price climbs to $47,735. The 4xe package has an MSRP of $47,995, which jumps to $49,490 when you add the destination fee. That is a difference of $1,755 compared to the non-hybrid.
The 2021 Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon in non-hybrid form has a base price of $42,215, but if you add features of the 4xe Launch Edition, including the 8.4-inch UConnect system, the Alpine speaker system, the LED Lighting Group and the 4 to 1 Rock Trac heavy duty four-wheel-drive system, the price rises to $50,690. The Wrangler Rubicon 4xe Launch Edition starts at $53,180 with destination, so the hybrid system only adds $2,490 to the bottom line.
With such a low price point for both models, the 4xe package should be popular, and not just with electric vehicle fans. The Wrangler 4xe package adds efficiency without compromising off-road capabilities, so the Jeep experience is preserved with the introduction of electrification.
The first Jeep Wrangler 4xe models are expected to arrive in dealerships during the first quarter of 2021.
