Since the 2019 Chevrolet Camaro was introduced with the redesigned exterior, that new look has been the focus of every conversation about the refreshed muscle car, but today, we bring you a look at six other key changes for the new model year.

The 2019 Chevrolet Camaro has been pretty significantly revamped on the outside, with new taillights across the entire lineup and a variety of new front end designs that vary from model to model. Some people love the new look and some people hate it, but since General Motors introduced us to the Camaro for the 2019 model year, almost every discussion has focused on that exterior design.

However, Chevrolet didn’t just update the exterior and call it a day. There have been a variety of important changes made for the 2019 model year, including the addition of the 1LE package for the turbocharged four-cylinder models. That was another hot topic when the facelifted Camaro was introduced a few months back, but today, we bring you a look at six other key changes for the 2019 model year.

No Redline or Hot Wheels Edition
The Redline and Hot Wheels special edition packages are no longer offered, but considering how those packages were rolled out, it comes as little surprise that they aren’t listed for 2019. At the same time, we could very well see these packages or something like them later in the model year.

Rear View Camera Mirror
The 2019 Chevrolet Camaro in 2SS and ZL1 trim get the rear view camera mirror that I have experienced in the Cadillac CT6. I made a video of this system that shows how well it works in the Caddy. I love the system and I suspect that owners of the premium 2019 Camaro models will love it as well.

10-Speed for the SS
The 2019 Chevrolet Camaro SS will come with a standard 6-speed manual transmission, but a 10-speed gearbox is now offered as an option rather than the 8-speed unit. The turbo-4 and V6 models retain the 8-speed automatic transmission for now, but with the Mustang having gone to the 10-speed with their turbo-4, it is only a matter of time before Chevy follows suit.

New Infotainment
All 2019 Chevrolet Camaros will come with the new Chevrolet Infotainment 3 system, replacing the MyLink system. Considering the trend of constant infotainment improvements, this new system should offer greater functionality than the current system.

3LT Joins the Lineup
The 2018 Chevrolet Camaro is offered in 1LT and 2LT trim, but for 2019, a new 3LT trim will be added for the coupe and convertible. We do not have the full details on this new trim level, but with the level of content in the current 2LT package, it seems unlikely that 3LT will build on top of that. Instead, we may see the 1LT and 2LT effectively drop down in price and content, with 3LT basically replacing 2LT, 2LT replacing 1LT and the 2019 1LT would have a lower price point and less features.

Colors – Four Out, Three In
The 2019 Chevrolet Camaro will be without four colors from the 2018 model year - Bright Yellow, Nightfall Gray Metallic, Hyper Blue Metallic and Arctic Blue Metallic. At the same time, three new colors will be introduced for 2019, including Satin Steel Gray Metallic, Shadow Gray Metallic and Riverside Blue Metallic.

Still a half refresh no matter what IMO. The 10 speed auto should be in all Camaro models over the 8 speed. absolutely no other performance changes and a 4 banger 1LE to compete with what. The SS 1LE should have Michelin cup 2's, the LT1 should have gotten a HP increase, the automatic cars should have some better rear gear ratio's to pick from, have an off and on switch for an FM. Better yet, get rid of it completely and get rid if the RPM limited lifters and camshaft. That would allow for a more performance orientated torque converter also. At least we may have gotten some lower content cars and that would make the Camaro more price competitive to the Mustang.

I recently bought a new 2018 Challenger and didn't even consider the Camaro due to its lack of visibility !
