The 2016 Chevrolet Camaro SS offers a dual mode exhaust system with varying levels of exhaust sound, but for those 6th gen Camaro owners who want to really let their LT1 V8 roar – the folks at Borla have three different exhaust systems, each with its own unique tone.
The new Chevrolet Camaro SS is powered by the LT1 V8 and buyers can pick two different exhaust systems – a fixed single-tone setup and a performance dual mode exhaust system. Both of these exhaust systems allow enough rumble for the new V8 Camaro to announce its presence, but in the muscle car world, you can never really have enough rumble. This is why exhaust systems are among the most popular aftermarket accessories across every performance vertical and for Camaro owners who want a different exhaust note from their new muscle car – the folks at Borla have them covered.
Borla Exhaust for the 6th Gen Camaro
The team at Borla Exhaust has rolled out a trio of exhaust systems for the 2016 Chevrolet Camaro SS and the video below offers a breakdown of these three options as well as examples of each system in action on a new LT1-powered Camaro. There are cameras and microphones located at the starting line, at the finish line, in the car and on the car, giving us a chance to hear every Borla system from every possible angle. The video also includes examples of a new Camaro SS with the stock exhaust as well, and we even get a brief portion where David Borla explains the importance of the new 6th gen Camaro SS exhaust to him and his family.
The three Borla Exhaust options for the 2016 Chevrolet Camaro SS include the Touring, the S Type and the Atak. The Touring is the least aggressive and the quietest of the three, although it is still quite a bit louder than the stock exhaust. The Borla S Type system is slightly louder and slightly raspier than the Touring and the Atak setup is the loudest of the trio – offering the most aggressive tone throughout the powerband, but doing so without the dreaded interior drone.
