It seems like young Detroit Lions superstar defensive lineman Ndamukong Suh has been in the news lately for all of the wrong reasons and after being suspended for two games after an alleged stomping incident in the Lions Thanksgiving Day loss to division rival Green Bay, Suh is back in the news for crashing his vintage Chevy muscle car.
Generally when a big names sports star is involved in a crash in a high performance car late at night, there is usually some other shady aspect to the ordeal but after the accident on Saturday night/Sunday morning at 1:15am in the nightclub district of Suh’s hometown of Portland, Oregon – local police were quick to point out that the young superstar was not under the influence of drugs or alcohol. Local authorities also stated that Suh was neither “driving crazy” nor was he “a jerk” when police arrived on the scene. Suh (shown on the right side of the picture here) and his two unnamed passengers walked away from this weekend’s accident without any injuries.
This is Ndamukong Suh’s third driving “incident”, having been in a two car accident last year in Royal Oak, Michigan along with an accident in his college years at Nebraska where he hit three parked cars. In the incident in Royal Oak, no alcohol was involved but in the college accident, Suh had been drinking but his blood alcohol level was well under the legal limit. We frequently hear about famous athletes getting into car accidents while under the influence of drugs or alcohol but in every case Suh has either been under the legal BAC level or he hadn’t been drinking at all – which was the case with the most recent accident. Suh is unlike many of the young superstars of the NFL, being very professional and well spoken in and out of the media spotlight so the fact that Suh was sober when the recent accident occurred, it appears that the young man is not irresponsible…perhaps he’s just not such a great driver.
The worst news here seems to be the amount of damage to Ndamukong Suh’s 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS. In the course of the accident, the Chevy muscle car hit a tree, a light pole and a drinking fountain – causing fairly significant damage to the donked-out ’70 Chevelle. Evidently, Ndamukong Suh and a couple friends were cruising the Portland nightclub district in his 1970 Chevelle SS when he went to pass a slow moving taxi cab. Suh pulled around the cab and goosed the throttle – causing his American V8-powered muscle car to break traction and spin out. The impact bent the driver’s side wheels under the car, along with doing substantial damage to the front fender and entire rear end.
Ndamukong Suh was in his home town of Portland after attending the Pac 12 championship football game on Friday after being suspended from the Detroit Lions for an altercation with an offensive lineman from the Green Bay Packers. The uber passionate Suh has had a few instances where his on-field antics have gotten him ejected while causing on-going troubles with the league. Suh will rejoin the Lions on December 12th, a day after the team takes on the Minnesota Vikings.

Sounds like an absolutely
Sounds like an absolutely terrible driver! I guess it doesn't matter to him. He can always pay his car insurance and go out and buy a new car.
