While I have not received confirmation from FCA, multiple dealership contacts around the United States have confirmed that the 2019 Dodge Challenger R/T Scat Pack 1320 will go on sale tomorrow, with deliveries planned for the first quarter of 2019.
Earlier this year, Dodge introduced the 2019 Challenger R/T Scat Pack 1320 – a budget-friendly package for someone looking to go drag racing without spending big money. The 1320 package adds $3,995 to the base MSRP of the R/T Scat Pack Challenger while the required 8-speed automatic adds $1,595 and destination fees add $1,395 for an out-the-door price of $45,980.
For that price, you get a street legal muscle car that will run 11.70s right out of the box, making this car only about a half-second slower in the quarter mile than the 707-horsepower Hellcat Challenger. Starting tomorrow, you can order this drag strip package at your local Dodge dealership.
“All it takes is an evening spent at a local drag strip to learn that the grassroots drag-racing community is large and extremely loyal to their cars,” says Steve Beahm, Head of Passenger Car Brands – Dodge, SRT, Chrysler and FIAT, FCA – North America. “We created the Dodge Challenger R/T Scat Pack 1320 for the heart of the sport, the bracket racer who wants to drive to the track, suit up, go fast and go home with a big smile and maybe a trophy in the trunk with minimal prep and upkeep.”
The 1320 Package
The 1320 package for the 2019 Dodge Challenger R/T Scat Pack includes the following items:
-TransBrake
-Torque Reserve System

-Launch Assist (Track-friendly traction control)
-Launch Control (Integrates the Torque Reserve System with the TransBrake)
-SRT three-mode adaptive suspension system tuned specifically for the Scat Pack 1320, including Drag Mode
-Single seat interior, passenger and rear seat available for $1 each
-3.09 limited slip differential

-Brembo front braking package with 4-piston calipers
-Low-gloss black 20x9.5-inch aluminum wheels with knurled bead seats to prevent tire slip
-Nexen SUR4G Drag Spec 275/40R20 street-legal drag radials, designed specifically for this car
Also, the 8-speed TorqueFlite transmission is required with this package and the 6.4-liter, 392-cubic inch Hemi with 485 horsepower and 475 lb-ft of torque provides the motivation.
Again, while the first units aren’t expected to arrive at dealers until next year, the order bank for the drag strip-ready package opens tomorrow.
