The final video on the Chevrolet Camaro 50th anniversary website has gone live and while we had hoped that this video installment would include something spicy – like the 6th gen Camaro Z/28 – it is another video showing the ZL1 and a vast array of other classic Chevy muscle cars.
Over the past few months, GM muscle car fans have been checking the special website design to help celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Chevrolet Camaro. This website initially offered information about the official celebration weekend which was laid out around the 2016 Woodward Dream Cruise and included a day at the Lansing Grand River production facility where the 6th gen Camaro is built.
In addition to the celebration information, the Camaro 50th anniversary minisite has been offering up new videos every so often, showing clips from past and present Chevy muscle cars – from commercials to a burnout video of the 2017 Camaro ZL1 doing a burnout. At first, the videos were debuting every couple of weeks, but this last video slot has been locked since before the Dream Cruise in mid-August.
The final video has gone live, and while it doesn’t show us anything that we haven’t seen before – it is still a great clip for Camaro fans, with muscle cars old and new.
The Final Camaro 50th Anniversary Website Video
There has been a great deal of speculation as to what would be shown in the final slot of the Camaro 50th anniversary website, with hopes of a glimpse at the future of the Chevrolet muscle car. Many of the previous short videos have referenced a Camaro Z/28, leading me to hope that we might get some insight on the new Z/28, but with the release of this new video – there is no mention of the Z/28.
That is the only bad news, as this is still an awesome Camaro video; one which Chevrolet muscle car fans are likely to love. The video is titled “The official car of every generation” and it offers us a look at the best-known models from each of the six Camaro generations.
The video starts with Camaro Chief Engineer Al Oppenheiser doing a burnout in the 2017 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1, accompanied by other short clips of Camaros doing burnouts during the past half-century. We then get to see another 50 seconds or so of classic Camaro footage, joined by clips of an artist painting a mural of the Camaro generations behind a Fifty anniversary version of the 6th gen muscle car.
If you check out the Chevrolet Facebook page, they frequently posted one of those cool panoramic pictures where you can scroll around and see the different images in this mural.
So, the final video doesn’t reveal any information about the next Camaro Z/28, but it still offers up one great historic Camaro footage which fans are sure to love. You can check out that video below and if you want to see any of the other videos in that series – click here to visit Chevrolet.com.
