If you buy one of the new 2016 Cadillac CTS-V super sedans when they arrive later this year and you quickly decide that 640 horsepower isn’t enough, the folks at Hennessey Performance have a trio of upgrade packages already planned for the new high performance luxury sedan – including an HPE1000 package that lifts the output to a stunning 1,000 horsepower.
While the folks at Hennessey Performance can turn a myriad of vehicles into high performance beasts, the Texas based tuner has been turning out some wicked General Motors products of late, so it should come as no surprise that John Hennessey and his team have big plans for the new 2016 Cadillac CTS-V. Considering that the new CTS-V comes with a similar LT4 V8 to the one found in the new Corvette Z06 – an engine with which the shop is already very familiar – it should come as even less of a surprise that with the new Cadillac months from touching the street, Hennessey already has three detailed performance packages for the new super luxury sedan, with power levels starting at 750 horsepower and climbing up to 1,000 horsepower.
Cadillac CTS-V HPE750 and HPE800
The first two packages for the 2016 Cadillac CTS-V rely on the stock supercharger and the stock engine internals, but Hennessey adds a new supercharger pulley, high flow cylinder heads, a larger intercooler, a custom grind HPE camshaft, engine calibration, all of the necessary gaskets and fluids, badging inside and out and Hennessey Premium floormats. If you select the HPE750 package for your 2016 Cadillac CTS-V, you get 750 horsepower while the HPE800 package uses all of the same components, but offers 800 horsepower at 6,500rpm.
The HPE website doesn’t explain where the extra 50 horsepower comes from, but it could be from a smaller pulley thus higher boost, a more aggressive camshaft, a more aggressive engine tune or any combination of the three. Either of these two packages come with a 3 year, 36,000 mile warranty.
Cadillac CTS-V HPE1000
For those 2016 Cadillac CTS-V buyers who want to be able to destroy just about any car that they come across on the road or on the drag strip, there is the new Hennessey HPE1000 package for the new super Caddy. This package removes the supercharger and instead relies on a pair of turbochargers to create the boost needed to make 1,000 horsepower. In addition to unique cylinder heads, a custom camshaft and twin ball bearing turbos with dual waste gates, the HPE1000 package adds forged steel connecting rods, a forged steel crankshaft, an upgraded fuel system, an air to air intercooler, a stainless steel exhaust system, dual K&N filters, an electronic boost controller and all of the badges, gaskets, fluids and tuning efforts needed to safely make 1,000 horsepower at 6,500rpm.
This package also comes with a warranty, but the 1,000hp package is only covered for 1 year and 12,000 miles.
The Hennessey website doesn’t list any pricing on any of these models, but once we get closer to the dealership debut of the 2016 Cadillac CTS-V, we are likely to see more information and probably some videos from Hennessey showing off this new luxury beast.
