Cadillac is expanding its highly regarded V-Series to now include EVs. The 2026 Cadillac LYRIQ will be the first to earn the V designation. According to Cadillac, the “LYRIQ-V pushes the performance pedigree of the V-Series sub-brand to new heights. We will offer LYRIQ-V in select markets around the world in both left-hand-drive and right-hand-drive, including the U.S., Canada, Australia, and New Zealand. More markets will be announced at a later date.”
“The LYRIQ-V is a truly remarkable representation of the luxury, performance and innovation prowess that are the foundations of the Cadillac brand,” said John Roth, vice president, Global Cadillac. “The Cadillac portfolio is even greater with our newest addition.”
In a tease video, released by Cadillac, the LYRIQ-V is shown on a track. The driver pushes a button on the steering wheel marked V, which appears to trigger a power boost.
2026 Cadillac LYRIQ-V
The current all-wheel-drive LYRIQ has 500 horsepower. At this point Cadillac isn’t saying how the LYRIQ-V will differ. I would expect a horsepower boost and huge brakes, much like V-Series upgrades on the CT5-V Blackwing. As I have reported previously, the 2025 CT5-V Blackwing is gas-powered. The Blackwing has a 6.2L Supercharged V-8 with 668 horsepower and 659 lb.-ft. of torque.
Cadillac has singled out the V-Series to represent power and performance. The V-Series celebrated its 20th anniversary this year.
According to Cadillac, “In the EV era, V-Series vehicles will be characterized by their exceptional performance, instantaneous acceleration, competitive range, and standard all-wheel drive.”
LYRIQ Leads the Way for Cadillac
“The Cadillac LYRIQ sets the standard for the future of Cadillac and marks another major milestone in GM’s commitment to an all-electric future,” said Reuss. “This is a monumental day for the entire GM team. We retooled Spring Hill Assembly with the best, most advanced technology in the world and the team worked tirelessly to complete the preparations nine months ahead of the original schedule.”
The Cadillac LYRIQ-V is expected to be built at the Cadillac plant in Springhill, Tennessee. While the company isn’t releasing any details at this point, the 2026 vehicle should be available early next year.
