The Beatles John Lennon was 25 years old and already very famous when he first got his driver’s license, allowing him the luxury of making his very first car a 1965 Ferrari 330 GT2+2 and if you have time to hit Bonham’s Paris sale of Motor Cars at the Grand Palais on February 5th (and a quarter million or so dollars) that legendary 1965 Ferrari could be yours.
When the world-renown Lennon got his driver’s license in 1965 it was such a massive news story that every high end automaker sent a representative to Lennon’s home to try to pedal their high-priced wares. Lennon perused this mass of exotics and eventually chose a French Racing Blue 1965 Ferrari 330 GT 2+2 for the price of roughly $3,100. Two months later Lennon purchased a Rolls-Royce Phantom Limo and a Mini to complete his collection.
In the book John Lennon Imagined: Cultural History of a Rock Star by Janne Mäkelä, Lennon was quoted as saying that his Rolls Royce was for relaxing, the Mini for pottering about in, and the Ferrari was for zoom. Evidently, Lennon had enough zoom in his life as by November of 1965, Lennon’s opalescent silver blue Ferrari went up for sale with roughly 3,000 miles on the odometer.
According to the appraisers at Bonham’s, this car has a present value of $155,000 – 220,000 so if you are the world’s biggest Beatles fan (or a Ferrari/exotic car collector) and you want to have a remarkable piece of automotive history, plan your trip to Bonham’s of Paris for February 5th. Keep in mind that the present value is only a guideline for the bidding and should a bidding war break out, this legendary Ferrari could venture well above that value.

I'm a huge Beatles fan and
I'm a huge Beatles fan and would want that car for myself. But unfortunately I know it can never happen. So, whoever got John Lennon's car, please take care of it for me, I could still drive the same car with an exotic car rental though.
