The new Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4 utilizes a carbon fiber monocoque that essentially makes up the entire center section of the car which as you can imagine, takes a special kind of body-man so Lamborghini will have 3 “Flying Doctors” around the world to fix any damages to the body and/or chassis of the new Italian supercar.
In addition to the high tech carbon fiber monocoque, the new Lamborghini Aventador has more carbon fiber making up the engine cover and air intakes, along with lightweight aluminum doors, front fenders and hood. As you can imagine, fixing a body and chassis like this is not something that even the best dealership mechanics learned in shop class so Lamborghini has trained three individuals dubbed the Flying Doctors how to deal with the unique body construction of the Aventador LP700-4.
For American Aventador buyers, should they damage their new Lamborghini supercar they will have to ship the car to a Seattle repair center rather than one of the 29 Lamborghini dealerships around the country. The center is located at the University of Washington in Seattle – where Lamborghini has teamed up with Boeing and the school for some of the carbon fiber work behind the development of the Aventador.
The Lamborghini Flying Doctors will be equipped with a suitcase of specialty tools designed specifically to mend the body of the Aventador and while price hasn’t been mentioned; this super-specific body work will likely cost a pretty penny but when you consider that the car itself costs $379,000, the owner will probably be able to afford the big bill.
All of the new Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4’s body components are being produced at the company’s new 10 million dollar production facility in Sant’Agata. The Aventador is set to offer just 700 units in the first year of production and unfortunately, even if you have almost $400,000 laying around for a new Lambo, unless you’ve already reserved your new supercar, you will have to wait for next year as all of those first model year vehicles have been pre-sold.
