The 2018 Chevrolet Camaro Hot Wheels 50th Anniversary Edition will make its formal debut next week at the SEMA Show in Las Vegas, but thanks to the press release from General Motors – we have all of the vital details on the next Hot Wheels Camaro.
When Mattel introduced their Hot Wheels line of toy cars back in 1968, the Chevrolet Camaro was the first real car featured in what would become the most legendary name in diecast toy cars. Chevrolet has celebrated that partnership back in 2013 with the Hot Wheels Edition Camaro and for 2018, there is a new Chevrolet muscle car coming from the factory with Hot Wheels badges and a long list of unique features.
The 2018 Chevrolet Camaro Hot Wheels 50th Anniversary Edition will make its grand debut at next week’s SEMA Show in the Las Vegas Convention Center, but for those who aren’t headed to the show, here is an early look at the toy-themed muscle car.
“The Chevrolet Performance design studio is full of designers who were inspired by Hot Wheels,” said Tom Peters, director of Exterior Design for Chevrolet Performance Cars. “The Camaro Hot Wheels 50th Anniversary Edition captures that passion, turning childhood fantasy into reality.”

The Hot Wheels 50th Anniversary Edition package for the 2018 Chevrolet Camaro is available on either 2LT or 2SS models and buyers can pick a hard top or the drop top. This means that the cool new Hot Wheels Camaro will come with the 455hp LT1 V8, making this the quickest car to wear the Hot Wheels logo.
The unique features of the 2018 Chevrolet Camaro Hot Wheels 50th Anniversary Edition begin on the outside, with Crush exterior paint, Satin Graphite stripes with Silver Ice Metallic accents, Satin Graphite ground effects, Satin Graphite 20-inch forged aluminum wheels with milled faces, 50th Anniversary Hot Wheels fender badges, a package-specific grille with Galvano Chrome inserts, orange brake calipers, tinted taillights, a black taillight panel with the Hot Wheels emblem and black Chevrolet bowtie emblems.
On the inside, the new Hot Wheels Camaro is decked out in Jet Black leather with orange inserts and orange accent stitching. The package also adds orange knee pads on the doors, orange seat belts, uniquely embossed front headrests, a 50th Anniversary Hot Wheels badge on the steering wheel, illuminated doorsill plates with 50th Anniversary Hot Wheels badges and premium floor mats with orange stitching.
“In the 1960s Hot Wheels and Camaro challenged vehicle design by elevating the speed, power and performance of both die-cast and pony cars alike. For 50 years, both brands have developed high-performance cars that embody the challenger spirit.” said Chris Down, senior vice president and Global Brand GM, Hot Wheels. “We’re thrilled that fans can now experience the essence of Hot Wheels in this special edition Camaro.”
The 2018 Chevrolet Camaro Hot Wheels 50th Anniversary Edition package has an MSRP of $4,995 whether the buyer picks the 2LT, 2SS, coupe or convertible and this unique design will go on sale sometime during the first quarter of 2018.
Of course, there will also be a small-scale version of the 2018 Chevrolet Camaro Hot Wheels 50th Anniversary Edition from Mattel, and you can check that out in the video below.
