The IIHS has one top rating and one only: Top Safety Pick Plus. The Rogue just got it thanks to its abundant standard safety features and build.
The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) awarded the all-new 2014 Nissan Rogue a rating of Top Safety Pick Plus after crash tests. The Rogue scored "Good" in all six test categories, the best rating the IIHS gives. The final test, introduced in 2013, involves a small overlap frontal test for "corner" impact on the car. Front crash prevention, ala the Nissan Rogue's standard Forward Collision Warning system, must also be present.

The 2014 Nissan Rogue has many standard safety features, including an Advanced Air Bag System with dual-stage supplemental front air bags with seat belt and occupant classification sensors. Front seat-mounted side impact supplemental airbags, roof-mounted curtain side impact supplemental air bags with rollover sensor for front and rear-seat outboard occupant head protection, and more are also standard.
Another key standard element for crash safety is Zone Body construction, which the Rogue uses to create crumple zones that move crash energy away from occupants and the interior cabin. And for those who live where weather changes mean tire inflation warnings are common.. Nissan has a "Easy Fill Tire Alert" system that honks the horn to let you know when a low tire is filled to pressure.
A host of other optional, available safety systems are also to be had in the 2014 Rogue, such as Nissan's award-winning Around View Monitor system with Moving Object Detection.
