A Juke with a GT-R powertrain. It was done last year and caught a lot of attention. Now, Nissan is doing it again, this time with even more power.
Nissan plans to build 17 of the second-generation Juke-R compact monster. The little crossover was debuted at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in June. Nissan calls it the “Juke R 2.0 Concept.” Now that concept is becoming a production reality in a very limited run of 17 custom-made crossovers. As we said at its debut:
The Juke R 2.0, or Juke R NISMO, uses the 2014 styling updates for the Juke along with NISMO specifics in the body aero kit. Under the hood is the GT-R's roaring V6, pumping to 600 horsepower.
Basically, Nissan took the body of a Juke and the chassis of the 2016 Nissan GT-R NISMO and mated them. It’s basically a Juke Godzilla.
So you have a tiny little all-wheel drive Juke that’s powered by a 600 horsepower, 480 pound-feet of torque engine and transmission a lot of carbon fiber add-ons. The price tag is about half a million dollars. The interior is all racing business, including a full roll cage and Recaro seating.
Nissan hasn’t released any numbers for the Juke-R’s performance specs, but we expect they’re very good given the showcase of speed it put on at Goodwood under the direction of NISMO driver Jann Mardenborough.
