Every year, Kelley Blue Book names its fifteen best family cars for the new model year. This year, the 2015 Nissan Pathfinder made the list. Again. Here's why.
This is the second straight year that the Nissan Pathfinder has made KBB's Best Family Cars list. The KBB.com editors named the Pathfinder to the list because it's roomy, has easy access, is refined, and has great handling. Of 23 models tested, only fifteen made the list. Only two were midsize SUVs and the Pathfinder was one of those.
“Completely redesigned just two years ago, 2015 Pathfinder retains its core values of fun, utility and fresh style while also adding a number of exciting enhancements beneficial for the whole family,” said Dan Mohnke, vice president, Nissan Chief Marketing Manager & Marketing Operations. “With plenty of cargo space and interior room, and a smooth ride with solid handling, the 2015 Pathfinder is a classic ‘family-first’ vehicle, and we’re elated to once again be included among Kelley Blue Book’s Best Family Cars.”
The Pathfinder boasts best-in-class passenger volume, best-in-class MPGs, and is the only vehicle in its class with selectable 2WD, Auto 4WD, or manual 4WD - meaning it can be puhed into 2WD like most 4x4s, can be put into a mode that automatically selects 2 or 4 wheel drive based on the situation, or locked-in 4WD as any 4x4. The 2015 Pathfinder also has seating for up to seven, available Blind Spot Warning and Rear Cross-Traffic Alert, etc. The industry's first Latch and Glide second row allows the seats to be tilted and moved to give access to the third row even while a child safety seat is installed.
"For a second year the Nissan Pathfinder gets the nod as one of the best family cars you can buy. This 3-row crossover SUV is on the large end of the midsize segment, and its extra size adds up to more cargo space and more room for passengers to stretch out," says KBB.com.
