The Lexus RX 450h takes the top award as best green winter vehicle by the New England Motor Press Association.

Each year the New England Motor Press Association (NEMPA) tests hundreds of vehicles and evaluates them for inclusion in its annual Best Winter Vehicle Awards categories. This year, the 2017 Lexus RX 450h stood out among all the green vehicles the group evaluated and took home the award for Favorite Green Winter Vehicle.

NEMPA member and Wheels TV contributor, Rich Taber, pointed out that the RX 450h's 31 MPG City rating is outstanding for a mid-sized, all-wheel drive SUV. However, the RX 450h also exceeds the expectations of premium crossover owners in terms of comfort, reliability, and overall ownership experience. The Lexus RX is also one of the only vehicles in its class to offer standard active safety on all of its trims. As we recently reported, the RX 450h is one of only 11 vehicles in America to have a zero driver death rating in a recent IIHS study of real-world accident data.

Torque News spent a week evaluating the RX 450h in winter conditions this past season and found it to be sure-footed and confidence-inspiring in the worst New England weather. We also found it a much greener option than the Jaguar F-Pace Diesel.
