2024 Hyundai Elantra N Line Review - Looks, Value, and a Dash of Sporty

We review the 2024 Hyundai Elantra N Line and find it to be a very good value.

The 2024 Hyundai Elantra N Line is a sporty-looking trim of the popular Elantra five-passenger sedan. This is a car roughly the same size as a Civic or Tesla Model 3. Hyundai offers the best ownership package of warranty and included maintenance in this segment, and has had good reliability ratings over the past decade. The Elantra is an IIHS Top Safety Pick for 2024, and comes with many active safety systems standard.

The 2024 Hyundai Elantra N Line - What Powers It? How’s the Fuel Economy?
The N Line has a 1.6-liter 4-cylinder gas engine that produces 195 lb-ft of torque at just 1500 RPMs. Its peak hp rating is 201. This is mated to a 7-speed DCT (dual-clutch transmission). The N Line uses regular unleaded fuel and has earned a 31 MPG Combined estimate from the EPA. In our area of Metro Boston, this vehicle would have a 10 cent per mile cost of energy, roughly the same as that of a battery-electric vehicle (due to our very high electricity costs), but about 50% lower than a hybrid-electric vehicle. 

The 2024 Hyundai Elantra N Line - Looks
The Elantra N Line is primarily an appearance package, and it look great to our eye. Much more attractive than a Tesla Model 3 or a Civic. If there is a more attractive vehicle in this segment, we can’t name it. 

The 2024 Hyundai Elantra N Line - The Drive
The N Line handles nicely for a FWD car, but the power delivery is unsatisfying. It does not feel like a car with 195 lb-ft of torque at 1500 RPM. The throttle tip-in is tuned for efficiency, not fun. There is a sport mode, and there are paddle shifters to help. The very low-profile 40-series all-season tires make potholes a bit more noticeable, but the ride is not spoiled by them. 

The 2024 Hyundai Elantra N Line - The Price and The Value
At $30,105, the Elantra N Line offers a very low entry point for any shopper. The 10-year warranty and three years of included maintenance are much better than what any other brand offers. We’d name the Elantra as the best value in its segment hands-down. Those seeking the lowest cost of ownership should check out the Elantra Hybrid.

Inside, the textile seats let down the overall interior quality and vibe a bit. Our test vehicle had a spare with a tool kit, but the specs say “Mobility kit.” We’d be sure to check for that spare before buying. 

The 2024 Hyundai Elantra N Line - Infotainment System
The screens are similar to all modern Hyundai cars. Wireless Android Auto is listed, but our Samsung Galaxy S24 would only connect using a cord.

The 2024 Hyundai Elantra N Line - Conclusion. 
The N Line is a mid-trim Elantra with a bit of flair. Its great looks and its overall value package are what stand out for us in this competitive segment.
