2025 Honda Civic Si Review - No Cost Increase Since 1993??

We had a chance to try out the 2025 Honda Civic Si, and we came away shocked that Honda would deliver one to you for under $32K.

2025 Honda Civic Si - What Is It?
The Honda Civic is a sedan or hatchback five-passenger car. We tested a sedan version. Si means it is a very sport version with all the fun stuff you want if driving satisfaction tops your list of priorities.

2025 Honda Civic Si - How Much Does It Cost?
Here’s the crazy thing: This Civic Si feels like a $40K sports sedan to us, but Honda has priced it at just $31,800, including the Honda Destination and Handling charge and special Urban Grey paint. It is hard for us to name a better sports sedan value in America today. We also cannot name a less expensive car that would even earn the name sports sedan. This price is amazing.

2025 Honda Civic Si - What Powers It?
Honda gives you a great 1.5-liter, four-cylinder, turbocharged gasoline engine mated to only one choice of transmission - a six-speed manual. And it’s one of the best ever made. Torque is 192 lb-ft, and peak power is 200 hp. This is more than enough to break the front tires free under hard acceleration on warm, dry, smooth asphalt, so it’s more than any sports sedan needs for driving that won’t get you arrested.

2025 Honda Civic Si - How’s It Drive?
The Civic Si is a legend. My very first new car purchase was a ‘90s Civic Si, and I bought it so I could blast around town and still have a decent commute. This car still fills that mission. The Civic Si feels quick in all public situations, and it is also very refined. Acura has a car something like this, you know. If you plan to get one, we’d try both.

The low-profile summer-only track tires are not bad on bumps. The steering and brakes are superb. The car handles like a dream. It’s everything you imagine it will be. If you can drive a stick, you’ll love this car.

2025 Honda Civic Si - Notable Features, Plusses and Minuses
One feature that jumped out at us was built-in Google Maps. I’m an Android Auto fan, so I don't want Google built in. Android Auto is there, but using it requires a few steps I normally don’t need to take. If you are team Apple, try CarPlay before you leave the dealership to be sure it works as you expect. The best news is it’s wireless.

There is no spare. The seats are manually adjusted. If there is a heated steering wheel, we could not find it. The tires are summer-only, so budget for winter tires or switch to all-seasons to save your life.

2025 Honda Civic Si - Why People Buy This Car
The Civic Si is now a four-door, and that relates to the crazy low price. If Honda had to build a special coupe, you’d end up paying more for fewer doors. The rear seats are roomy and completely usable. This is a practical sporty car. Honda is all about practicality. If you want less practical, there are many “luxury” brands just waiting to charge you much more money for much less car.

2025 Honda Civic Si - Conclusion
The Civic Si I bought back in the early 1990s cost me $11,999 with no radio and no AC. If you use an inflation adjustment tool, that equates to about $27K in today’s money. Add in a kicking audio system and AC, and you will end up at $31,800. This car is worlds better than my 1993, and it has not had a cost increase of one penny. Go buy one.
