The all-new 2023 Toyota Prius Prime is the top trim in the line. Here’s a list of some cars it is quicker than from 0-60 MPH.

The new 2023 Prius Prime will have 220 hp and be capable of a 0-60 MPH sprint in 6.6 seconds, according to Toyota. We looked to Zeroto60times.com to come up with a list of vehicles slower than the new Prius. Here’s a quick rundown of some slowpokes that will need to move aside to let the Prius Prime pass.

As you can see from our chart, the 2023 Toyota Prius Prime will be quicker from 0-60 MPH than classic V8 muscle cars, classic V8 sports cars (with fiberglass bodies), Honda Civic Si cars with VTEC engines, Mazda Miatas with turbochargers, Supras with turbos, and even a modern rear-wheel drive Subaru sports car equipped with a boxer engine.

Speed is relative. There have been quick Camry V6 cars for generations. A modern RAV4 Prime SUV is faster to 60 MPH than most classic muscle cars. There is no magic or trickery involved. Speed is related to torque, power, weight, gearing, and traction. The modern Prius Prime just has a better combination than cars that we all thought were fast in their era.

With 220 hp and ample torque, the new 2023 Prius Prime is poised to be a fun stoplight racer.

Thanks for this informative article. JG - "There have been quick Camry V6 cars for generations." Camry V6, possibly the greatest "sleeper" ever. It's so fast it was factory equipped with V rated tires. Lately, Toyota has the edge on sleeper performance – who would have thought? They got me to buy, with their 2012 RAV4 V6 (269hp) – 0-60, 6.3. After all these years it’s still an amazing fun ride.

I despise when supposed Car Guys get information wrong. I'm not going to give you the laundry list. I'm just going to give you one piece of information, perhaps you will learn. Every Subaru since the beginning of time has been "all wheel drive" you haven't listed as "rear wheel drive" don't you research before you type up an article?

“Supposed car guys” omg the irony. Pro tip: always be aware you don’t know everything and take a minute to confirm your “facts” before you post a condescending smug reply that makes you look like a fool.
