Total Quality Impact (TQI) is the automotive industry’s measure of the quality of a new vehicle. Strategic Vision ranks the 2016 Subaru WRX and Crosstrek vehicles as the top mid-size car and top CUV respectively in America. What does this mean for performance and crossover buyers?
Strategic Vision’s Total Quality Impact (TQI) is based on results from the New Vehicle Experience Study. They surveyed over 39,000 new vehicle buyers between July-December after the first 90 days of ownership. The 2016 Subaru WRX wins the overall Mid-Size Car Segment award. The 2016 Subaru Crosstrek was the overall winner in the Entry Crossover Utility Vehicle (CUV) Segment.
What consumers can expect if you buy one
If you buy a new Subaru WRX or Crosstrek, there’s 10 things you can expect. Strategic Vision says the two all-wheel-drive vehicles top the competition in safety, durability, NVH (noise, vibration and harshness), comfort, workmanship, style, power and pickup, and thoughtful engineering. WRX and Crosstrek also ranked highly in excitement and individuality measures.

In their TQI study, Strategic Vision checks out the tangible qualities of a vehicle. Things like comfort of the seats, the effectiveness of side mirrors, and how the vehicle feels when you take it around a corner. They also check out intangible and emotional aspects like how mindful the designing engineers were of you and your needs, and the image the vehicle conveys to your friends and family. They also find out if you will you be an advocate for the brand? WRX and Crosstrek were at the top in all these areas.

Subaru along with Buick also picked up the top brand awards from Strategic Vision. Subaru and Buick are the Corporation and Brand winners in the mass-market brands category. The top brands are also chosen for their tangible, intangible and emotional qualities.
The 2016 Subaru WRX performance sedan and the 2016 Crosstrek CUV are top vehicles in America according to Strategic Vision. The study says it goes beyond the quality of the vehicle itself. It also encompasses the quality of the experience of owning and driving it.
