If you want an SUV with the best third Row for ease of access and passenger comfort, check out this new scoring from Consumer Reports. The 2024 Subaru Ascent is rising.
Should 3-Row SUV shoppers consider the 2024 Subaru Ascent? According to updated scores from Consumer Reports (by subscription), you should. I cover the Subaru Ascent from all aspects, and it hasn't received rave reviews for its 3rd Row, but that has changed.
CR says its updated list relies on its expert evaluations of third rows for ease of access and passenger comfort. They've also included exclusive owner satisfaction and reliability survey data and safety and fuel economy information.
Note that the best models are listed in order of most- to least-roomy third-row seat and that not every vehicle is recommended by Consumer Reports. The 2024 Subaru Ascent is a recommended model. You can read my report here.

- CR MPG: Overall 22 / City 14 / Hwy 32 mpg
- #8 of 21 Midsized SUVs 3-row
"Getting into the Ascent is easy, thanks to its large doors and low step-in height. The second Row slides up out of the way with the flip of one lever, but it only leaves a marginal path, although the grab handles on the top of the second-row seats help with climbing in and out of the way back."
"The third Row is a little tight, as expected from an SUV in this class. The second-row captain's chairs can be moved forward and aft to give third-row occupants a bit more room for toes and legs."
What is the 2024 model year pricing for the Ascent?

MY TAKE
The 2024 Subaru Ascent is now a recommenced model by Consumer Reports. That hasn't always been the case. The Ascent's stock is rising.
Is the 2024 Ascent a good value for 3-Row SUV shoppers?
The 2024 Ascent comes with Subaru's Subaru's latest EyeSight safety technology, including a Wide-Angle Mono Camera. Subaru says the enhanced EyeSight driver assist system operates more smoothly and in an extended range of conditions.
The improvements are a result of a wider field of view, updated control software, and the addition of an electric brake booster.
What sets the Ascent apart from other 3-Row SUVs?
The Ascent is designed for families with active lifestyles. The family hauler comes standard with Subaru's Symmetrical all-wheel-drive, 8.7 inches of ground clearance, and X-Mode and dual-function X-Mode for improved off-pavement, mud, sand, snow, and dirt road capability.
