The all-new 2013 Ford escape is one of the most pet-friendly vehicles on the market today and a perfect ride for National Take Your Dog to Work Day.
With the number of dog owners in the U.S. at an all-time high, its a good thing that Ford recognizes our furry friends and has designed a vehicle that is dog and pet friendly. Ford has announced their pet-friendly features on the all-new 2013 Ford Escape and we can say it has definitely gone to the dogs. Even though June 22nd was the National Take Your Dog to Work Day, most dogs get to ride with their owners all year long.
And dog ownership is growing at a fast rate. There are currently close to 80 million owned dogs in the U.S. Thirty-nine percent of U.S. households own at least one dog, and twenty-eight percent of dog owners own two dogs. And twelve percent of dog owners own three or more dogs. So Ford is smart when they have designed the 2013 Ford Escape with all the special dog-friendly features.
Pet-friendly features on the Ford Escape
Ford is tapping into a huge market of dog owners and have given them what they need in the 2013 Ford Escape. Dogs and their owners will appreciate the animal-friendly features on the all-new SUV.
It starts with the rear-view camera that is offered on the new Escape. Many times the dog is loose and runs behind the car without the drivers knowledge. The camera can alert the driver before there is an incident.
The next handy feature is the lower bumper height on the 2013 Ford Escape. This allows the dogs to jump in and out the vehicle more easily without the owner having to lift the animal in.
The load-flat floor and seats come in handy when the owner needs to transport their animals in a large pet crate. The 2013 Ford Escape offers 67.8 cubic feet of cargo room for extra large dogs.
The second-row storage in the floor compartments are the perfect place to store fido’s dry food. The bins are large enough for travel-size containers for food or snacks.
A hands-free liftgate makes it easy for pet owners to load items in the back like large cages or food containers.
Metal trunk loops in the rear cargo are will help dog ownerssecure their pets. The dogs leash can be fastened to the clip when the cargo door is open and keep the pet from jumping out.
The Ford Sync service lets the driver call and provide turn-by-turn directions to the nearest vet clinic or pet stores while traveling. Or the system has a new Operator Assist so you can speak directly to an live person when using 411 business search.
These features and more make 2013 Ford Escape a vehicle all animal lovers can appreciate.

Youre certainly a pessimistic man. Probably have nothing going accept the need for a new vehicle, you should try getting a dog, maybe you'll be a more pleasant human being.
The new features sound great.
The new features sound great. Many of these features will be great for non-dog things too. Lower bumper height and load flat means easier lifting of all things heavy or clumsy! Tie downs to keep "Stuff" from moving around!
Cubbies to hide things!
Hands free tailgate...now who can't use that!!!!
