Ford Dealer Says “My Ford Raptor R Customers Always Want Me to Remove the $1,800 Graphics, But I Would Keep Them On”

If you bought a 2024 Ford Raptor R with graphics on the hood, side, and back of the truck, would you keep them or want them removed? What if it saved you $1,800 off the MSRP? A Ford dealer says his customers always want them to be removed. What about you?

Graphics or no stickers on your new Ford Raptor truck?

You've been dreaming about buying a new Ford F-150 pickup, and now you have decided on getting the off-road performance 2024 Ford Raptor R. It's an expensive truck, but you just received a $20,000 year-end bonus at work; it's been a good year, and you are ready to pull the trigger.

You pull into the Ford dealer's lot and spot the Raptor R sitting right up front. It's the one you saw in the dealer's ad over the weekend, and it hasn't been sold. This Agate Black Metallic beauty attracts your attention.

You walk inside and are greeted by a salesman who is more than eager to show you the truck. He gets the keys, opens it up, and it's everything you imagined and more. This is the one for sure.

After taking the Raptor R on a short test drive, you go back inside with the salesman and discuss the price and the financing options. You are able to negotiate a reasonable price on the truck, an acceptable price for your trade-in, and get the payments that you want, and you're ready to see the finance manager and look through the final paperwork.

The salesman never mentioned this when you were discussing the price.

As you review the paperwork, a $1,800 charge for the dealer's Raptor R graphics catches your eye. It's a significant amount, and you're not sure if the stickers are worth it.

Watch on the Torque News YouTube Channel Why Ford Raptor R Buyers Are Paying $1,800 for Graphics They Don’t Want – A Dealer’s Surprising Insight

You ask the salesman to remove the graphics, or you will not buy the truck. He says he has to talk to his manager about it. After a few minutes, he comes out and reluctantly says he'll remove the sticker from the hood, side, and rear of the truck. Getting it into the service department will take time, but you are willing to wait.

How much does the 2024 Ford Raptor R cost?

The Raptor R starts at $109,145 before destination, delivery fees, taxes, and license. The price does not include extras like graphics on the hood, side, and back of the truck.

One Ford dealer installs the Raptor graphics on every new R model they sell. The charge for the stickers is an additional $1,800 to the manufacturer's suggested retail price (MSRP).

The Ford salesman in this story is (@captain driver), who sells a lot of Ford Raptors. He says his customers always want him to remove the stickers off the hood, side, and rear of the off-road performance truck.

Ultimately, the decision is yours. What would you do?

The salesman says, "My Ford Raptor R customers always want me to remove them."

"This is one of my customers' trucks; it's a new Ford Raptor R," he says as he walks around the truck. "One thing I've noticed about every single Raptor customer I've ever sold is that they always want me to remove the graphics from the MSRP price."

"It's like $1,800 for the stickers on the hood, side, and back of the truck."

"One of the gentlemen I sold it to, as I was walking out of the finance office to give him the rest of the paperwork, I saw him yanking off the stickers off the new side of his new Raptor R truck."

"Nobody wants the stickers on the Raptor. Ours, apparently," he says, laughing.

"Maybe there's a reason why. I can't afford one, but I would keep the stickers on. I don't know. What would you do?" he asks.

Conclusion:

Of course, the Ford dealer and the salesman would want the customer to keep the graphics on the Raptor R truck. It's a nice extra profit margin for the dealer and salesman.

I don't know what the stickers cost the dealer, but the Ford dealer likely makes a 70-80% profit on the stickers. That's nearly $1,500 in pure profit for the dealer. The salesman gets a commission on the sale of the graphics, too.

So, of course, they want to sell every Ford Raptor R plastered with stickers. Why wouldn't they?

Here are a few of the comments from the captain drivers' post.

dosmin1 - "Decals are tacky, period. It already has badges; there is no need for it to look like a Hot Wheels."

user4758163519436 - "Nobody wants the dealer's logos in their vehicles, either. Yet, y'all still do it."

RTFM - "The stickers are coming off, and so is the added fee."

Crush - "$1800 for stickers is criminal. It's about like the dealer pricing."

gamerchicklexi - "I would also take off the dealership decal and the dealer logo while I'm at it."

Dallas.EVO - "The stickers make it look like a kid's truck or a matchbox car."

It's interesting to note that among the comments, there's a common sentiment-no one seems to be in favor of keeping the expensive Raptor R graphics. It seems like the only one who would keep them on the truck is the salesman. No surprise there.

What about you?

Imagine you're about to purchase a 2024 Ford Raptor R. The truck is adorned with striking graphics on the hood, side, and back. Now, here's the twist-you have the option to keep these graphics and pay the full price, or have them removed and save $1,800 off the MSRP. A Ford dealer claims his customers always opt for the latter.

I would insist that they pay me to display their stickers and they pay for the stickers not me. If they won't then they can sell me one without stickers not one that has had them pealed off possibly damaging the finish.

I guess that I would inform the salesman that I am in no rush, so they can find or order me something without the decals. I'm not going to risk the damage to the clear coat that removal would so likely entail.
Not a situation I need contemplate, though, as I could never get drunk enough to buy a new vehicle. The vulgarity and tackiness of the graphics aside, I still get mad thinking about my last visit to a car dealership, and that was many years ago.

Absolutely you are correct why do you have to pay foe the product advertisement? If they want the stickeron the truck dealership should pay you. This is all started the dealership put their name stickeron the vehicle and no one say anything now they arachuant to put big wrap on the vehicle for free advertisement

I would never buy a Ford raptor r truck anyway I would buy a Dodge TRX RAM and I would keep the decals on the truck. I don't know if ram charges you extra for the TRX decals on that truck but I would keep them on because that's how the truck came.

Zander (not verified)    December 23, 2024 - 9:39PM

The stickers do not cost extra. Check your facts. It is free to delete from the factory. Just check the box on the Ford website.

These people aren't using the website to have the truck built and delivered to their dealership though. They're buying them directly off of a dealerships lot so that isn't exactly going to work. Check your fact's, because it does add $1,800 to the MSRP.

I have always had all stickers removed from new vehicles I purchase. It's normally the dealers brand sticker but 2 times it has also been the 4x4 sticker on the bedside. Ever have I done it to reduce vehicle cost, I just don't want the decals on my vehicle.

Fes (not verified)    December 24, 2024 - 7:58AM

Added fee? They should be paying ME to advertise. That should be a reduction in price to be a billboard. Also 100,000 for a truck? No thanks.

Donald Thomas (not verified)    December 24, 2024 - 8:58AM

How about keep the graphics; however, since I’m giving you daily free advertising, put that $1800 toward a rebate

James Pinotti (not verified)    December 24, 2024 - 10:33AM

$110,000 FOR A PICK UP TRUCK! YOU HAVE TO BE CRAZY! THESE ARE THE SAME TOOTHLESS WONDERS THAT COMPLAIN THEY CAN'T AFFORD RENT, EGGS, MILK & BREAD!

Simon (not verified)    December 24, 2024 - 11:35AM

They're tacky. The truck itself is over-the-top, you don't need stickers to advertise it. They'll look dated within a year.

Remove them...AND the F150 or F250 or S550 or E300 or whatever on the tailgate or trunk and sides and remove any and all references to the dealership including license plate bracket or decal or sticker or emblems....
Not buying otherwise...
Not advertising for your dealership..

Dave (not verified)    December 24, 2024 - 12:31PM

They are overpriced to begin with and I don’t like what the manufacturers have done with our products when they take away our choices when we buy their products. If I want a certain model I am forced to pay for a bunch of extra options that I don’t want, or can’t stand. So I end up looking at a cheaper model that isn’t loaded down with all that garbage.

I like factory graphics that come on the cars and trucks. I cant stand the awful owner "custom" paint jobs that aere just ugly. As far a the little dealership sticker in the back, it doesnt bother me, thats trffling to worry about. (If you can afford a 90k truck, look trite aski g for a "royalty", really?) If anything they should be a checkbox item for a custom order (like they did in the 60's and 70's)...

Charlie (not verified)    December 24, 2024 - 5:41PM

Years ago I ordered an 84 mustang cobra and it had a cobra head on the hood, I opted for the graphics delete.

Matt (not verified)    December 24, 2024 - 9:48PM

I'd tell them that since they put the graphics on there they can either remove them so I don't pay or they can let me keep them without the extra charge for a dealer installed option that they added without my asking and I won't have to cost them even more money by having to pay their guys for more unnecessary work and if they don't want to work with me I'd just find another dealer that said I kinda like the graphics kinda reminds me of the old ranger splash I had in highschool

Back in my day stickers or no stickers all we had was Ford...So We All Just Walked Everwhere !.🚶.. And for them folks that th stickers is upsetting so bad, Here's a little tip for y'all. If for whatever crazy reason you're going to go off getin in them briar patches wear your long britches and them stickers won't bother you nearly as bad

Sean (not verified)    December 24, 2024 - 11:55PM

Why would someone complain about decals & stickers on a $125k Ford Raptor R Tonka truck? Like, the stickers take away from the subtlety of the balliest looking and sounding truck on US soil.... Oh yeah, you wanted that sleeper truck look.... smh.... If you can afford that truck, than you can take what they want to sell you....

Nick M (not verified)    December 25, 2024 - 1:55AM

Just got a 2024 from Ken Grody in San Diego...stickers removed immediately.
Did it on my Gen 1 / Gen 2 and now my Gen 3. The Raptor needs no more flash she stands out without a "Hey I'm the stuff" sticker on the the side. I liked my hood graphics around the scoop however , simple but no letters so kept those on all 3 trucks.
