Subaru Canada has produced a hot 2013 Subaru BRZ commercial that is too good to miss.
The 2013 Subaru BRZ that is used in the Canada commercial is dark blue, but the car should have been red because the car is so hot it melts everything around it. Subaru Canada is airing a commercial for our neighbors up north that we won’t get to see here in the U.S., but thanks to YouTube, you can watch one of the best advertising ads we’ve seen in a long time.
Subaru has been long known for it’s family-friendly wagons that will go just about anywhere. Their lineup is filled with vehicles that are practical and designed for moms to get the kids to school during the week, and take trips to the mountains on the weekends. And Subaru has built one of the strongest and most recognized brands in the industry. They are known for their Symmetrical all-wheel-drive that is one of the best systems in the industry.
So why does the Japanese carmaker go into a joint partnership with Toyota and build a rear-wheel-drive two-door coupe sports car? Because they know that sexy sells. The BRZ is one of the fastest-selling cars on the market today, and Subaru and Toyota have pulled off a marketing coup. The market has been ripe for an affordable sports car that has mass appeal.
And this new commercial from DDB Canada is an absolute brilliant piece of work. The commercial dubbed “Scorched”, stars a 2013 Subaru BRZ and showcases just how hot the car really is. The dark blue BRZ causes paint to bubble, plastic cups to melt, water to boil, aluminum cans to shrivel up and even the sprinkler system in the parking garage is set off by the extreme heat.
“The Subaru BRZ is a hot car, with a great deal of excitement already surrounding its release,” says Todd Mackie, creative director of DDB Canada, in a statement. “We wanted to create a visual story to mirror that anticipation while captivating both existing fans and reaching new ones.”
According to Autoblog, the advertising firm DDB, rented a vacant skating rink just for the filming of the commercial and a driver and a little manufactured smoke produced some fun sideways action for the spot. While Subaru doesn’t seem to need much help selling the hot BRZ in here in the U.S., maybe our cool neighbors up north need a little extra motivation to buy the hot-selling 2013 Subaru BRZ sports car.
