How have the all-new 2014 Subaru Forester and new 2014 XV Crosstrek Hybrid helped the Japanese automaker achieve three firsts in their history?
When Subaru launched the all-new 2014 Forester and new 2014 XV Crosstrek Hybrid, the vehicles have helped Subaru achieve three new firsts for the Japanese automaker. The new Forester was launched earlier this year, and the new XV Crosstrek Hybrid just made its world premiere at the 2013 New York International Auto Show. Subaru has announced that the two newest models to their lineup move the company into new territory. What did the two new models help Subaru achieve for the first time?
Two new sales records for Subaru
Subaru has just announced that vehicle sales for March 2013 reached 36,701 vehicles which makes March the best-ever sales month in the companies history. The March 2013 sales for Subaru represent a 13 percent increase over March 2012. They also announced that Year-to-date sales for Subaru total 92,527, and is a 15 percent increase over the same period in 2012. That gives Subaru the best first quarter in company history. The newly launched 2014 Forester had a hand in helping Subaru achieve the two new sales records.
When Subaru launched the new 2014 Forester, they underestimated demand for the new crossover and had to increase production. The all-new Forester orders in Japan exceeded 8,000 in its first month and more than quadruple their monthly target. Orders for the all-new crossover have reached 8,149 units in December, just one month after its launch on November 13. Forester sales in the U.S. reached 9050 units which was a 46.2 percent increase for the month and saw a 25.3 percent increase YTD. Impreza WRX also saw a strong YTD increase of 59.7 percent over last year.
The strong start to 2013 is the result of the company doing a lot of things right. They also brought the new 2013 BRZ two-door coupe, and 2013 Subaru XV Crosstrek crossover to market last year. These two new models helped Subaru have strong sales from 2012 where they achieved five consecutive years of sales increases and exceeded 300,000 annual sales in 2012, another first in company history. Subaru keeps bringing on the new models and has unveiled another new 2014 crossover that will launch later this year.
Another first for Subaru
The new 2014 Subaru XV Crosstrek Hybrid has just made its global premiere at the New York International Auto Show. For the first time in the brands history, Subaru is bringing a new hybrid to market with the 2014 XV Crosstrek Hybrid variant. The XV Crosstrek Hybrid is based on the popular XV Crosstrek crossover that achieved 4688 sales in March 2013 and 10,710 year-to-date sales.
The new 2014 XV Crosstrek Hybrid won’t just be another hybrid model, but it will be the most fuel-efficient and lowest-emissions AWD hybrid crossover on the planet. And the XV Crosstrek Hybrid will appeal to a new generation of buyers. The XV Crosstrek offers a more aggressive all-wheel-drive architecture and the added benefits of a hybrid powertrain, including higher fuel efficiency, broaden the vehicle’s appeal to a new generation. The 8.7 inches of ground clearance is higher than some larger SUVs and fits into buyers active lifestyles.
Subaru brings a strong lineup for 2013
Subaru is producing a product that consumers want and are getting excited about. Thomas J. Doll, president and chief operating officer, Subaru of America, Inc. said, “Subaru offers customers uncompromising driving performance and green capabilities. It is a winning combination that will continue to drive sales.”
The all-new 2014 Subaru Forester offers buyers a new crossover that is loaded with new features and technology that is attracting new buyers beyond the loyal Subaru faithful. By bringing the new 2014 XV Crosstrek Hybrid to market gives the Japanese automaker the the most fuel-efficient all wheel drive crossover in America. That’s a pretty powerful one-two punch. Look for a very strong sales year for Subaru. The 2014 XV Crosstrek Hybrid will go on sale in the fall.
