Subaru of America announces the 2015 BRZ and it comes with new features that will improve the two-door sports car.
The 2015 Subaru BRZ builds on its great sports car design with a front engine boxer powerplant that sits low in the chassis for a low center of gravity, rear-drive and low price. The 2015 BRZ now comes with at least five new features that will improve the sports car for sports enthusiasts. The biggest improvement comes in the area of improved handling for 2015 for driving enthusiasts. Other’s include new exterior and interior treatments and a price increase of just $100 for all models. Performance fans will still have to wait on a turbo upgrade. 2015 BRZ still comes with 200 hp naturally aspirated 2.0-liter boxer engine.
A new revised suspension for 2015
Let’s start with the most important change in BRZ for 2015. Subaru has improved the handling of the two-door coupe with a revised suspension. Engineers improved the handling by revising the suspension dampers in BRZ which they say will give a “smoother motion and absorption to help achieve optimum contact to uneven roads for a more enjoyable driving experience.” The outgoing model’s suspension was a bit harsh when driving over uneven pavement and this will be a welcome upgrade.
The 2015 Subaru BRZ sports car will continue with its sport-tuned 4-wheel independent suspension and 17” summer tires with 15-spoke dark gray-finished aluminum-alloy wheels. It also comes with front strut brace and TORSEN limited-slip differential. But for 2015, BRZ will get two new exterior additions and one inside upgrade. BRZ will now come with larger stainless tailpipe tips, simulated carbon-fiber center dash panel, and roof-mounted and body color shark fin antenna.
$100 price increase on all trim levels
2015 BRZ will still come in two trim levels, Premium and Limited models. Both trims will only get a $100 price increase from 2014. The BRZ Premium 6MT has a starting price of $25,695. The 2015 BRZ Limited 6MT starts at $27,695. BRZ Limited with a 6-speed automatic transmission is priced at $28,795. All models will need to add $795 destination.
New exterior colors and features
The 2015 BRZ gets new exterior colors and the WR Blue Pearl is updated. Subaru’ adds Ice Silver Metallic and Crystal White Pearl to the BRZ line. BRZ Limited adds a body-color trunk spoiler and standard fog light.
New interior treatments
BRZ Limited adds Alcantara trimmed interior and Keyless Access. BRZ Limited substitutes a dual-zone automatic climate control for the Premium model’s manual HVAC system, and its standard All-Weather Package includes dual-mode heated front seats and heated side mirrors.
The 2015 BRZ continues inside with seats that are upholstered with Alcantara inserts and leather bolsters. The Aha infotainment smartphone integration is included with the standard navigation system. BRZ also comes with a full security system that is standard in the Premium model. In the Limited, the dual visor vanity mirrors are illuminated, and front door courtesy lights illuminate when the doors are opened.
